I'm on the "bipolar spectrum" with mainly depression. I was supposed to switch from Geodon to Vraylar (along with my antidepressants) but could NOT sleep without Geodon. My doctor said she doesn't prescribe two antipsychotics at once very often but said I could take my 1.5 mg Vraylar in the morning and 40 mg Geodon at bedtime so I can sleep. I also take Mirtazapine at bedtime but it's lost effectiveness and I really need it combined with Geodon to sleep. Does anyone else take 2 antipsychotics as part of your med combo?

I take Trilafon and a tiny dose of Seroquel (for sleep).
I think the concern for pdos is that 2 AP's means someone is more likely to develop tardive dyskenesia. __________________ |

I take two: risperidone, and seroquel. I've been on this combo since 2013 with no problems.

Thanks! I've actually decided to stop the Vraylar because my doctor thinks my current med combo is too complicated. She wanted me to stop my Geodon but I feel like I'm stuck on it b/c I can't sleep without it.

I’m in two. Haldol and risperdal. I take both twice a day. They work.

I take 3 mg Vraylar in the morning and 5 mg Saphris at night for sleep. I used to take a combo of Ability and Seroquel (for sleep) for years, but Vraylar works better for me. My psychiatrist knows I’m on a complicated regimen that not all psych docs would approve of, but hey, it works! (I also take lamotrigine, prazosin, Xanax, and adderall.)

I'm Invega and Zyprexa
In the hospital I was once on Invega, Zyprexa, Abilify and Seroquel all at the same time. I was monitored very closely though.. |
