i don't know if this should be posted under the `cool insomnia club' (maybe i'll duplicate and post there as well). my pandemic nightly anxiety and insomnia seem only to be managed by take 1/2 of .05mg klonopin, 15mg temazepam (used specifically for sleep, tho this is another benzo) and 100mg progesterone; most nights this combo works fine but the morning drug hangover lingers on for hours even tho i drink 2 cups of coffee and go to the gym 6 days a week hoping to metabolize these meds. i have a video appt. coming up in a few weeks with psych nurse but in the meantime i'd love your personal input. i've read that some of you combine zzzquill with a benzo; have lots of 25mg seroquel which i used to take by itself but it seems to have pooped out on me. what works for you during these crazy times?

I take Lunesta (a sleep med) with Xanax to sleep. It works pretty well.

The thing that worries me about benzos is the damage to memory in the long term. And the links to dementia too. I have an emergency script for a tiny bit of valium and I almost never take it. I used to be on heavy benzos years ago and I worry about the damage already caused.

That, in my opinion, is risking a serious benzo physical dependency and withdrawal is no joke. I've been tapering off long term benzo use for around 2 years now.

I still take a small dose, for now, but for sleep I mostly rely on seroquel.

Anyone taking 2 benzos to get some decent sleep??

I take saphris for sleep, and Xanax along with it if I need to. I don’t like taking benzos and avoid them as best I can. I worry about how they interact with adderall, and the potential for memory issues.

What is red seal? What kind of substance is it? What are the active ingrediants?

I wouldn’t worry about benzodiazepine class small molecules causing dementia. The way you live your life determines your fate. Eat well. Peace

Actually numerous studies have been done on the long term effects on memory and dementia with benzo use. Its a valid concern.
