i've been on 1/2 of .05mg klonopin in am for more than 20 yrs. i'm very in tune w/what goes on in my mind and body and notice that around 2pm i start getting distracted, not able to focus and of course dealing with this pandemic causes additional anxiety at any given moment. i've been switching up my sleep meds cause my insomnia has gotten worse. had a video teleconference with my psych nurse several days ago where my main concern/discussion was my insomnia. through this conversation psych nurse suggested taking additionally when i really can't sleep, a 1/2 of 25mg seroquel at nite...AND THAT THE SEROQUEL ALSO WILL HELP WITH MY DAILY ANXIETY...i have noticed that the nights that i do take that seroquel, i have almost no anxiety in the afternoon...i also researched seroquel's properties and it does mention that it works for anxiety.

I take seroquel too and find it really helps with my anxiety, but it is sedating.

I think its pretentious for providers to use antipsychotics for anxiety. It undermines the very real concern that the individual is suffering by throwing a straight jacket on it. Antipsychotics=overkill. They caused Parkinson’s like side effects. Couldn’t sit still and couldn’t stop eating.

Thank you, but my question is about using a certain class of medication for anxiety. My question is not about whether medication should be used, or not.
