I'm not as attached to my T as I have been in the past but I still have dreams with her in them. Many of them I share with her but there are some that are too weird to share with her.

Does anyone else have dreams about their T? Do you share them with your T?

I used to have very powerful and symbolic dreams about him. Now, can't remember when I last dreamed about him, or really any person in my life. I've been sleeping more soundly these last months and haven't dreamed as much, or don't remember my dreams if I do.

The first time I brought up a dream to T that didn't have anything to do with him, he said he wasn't skilled at analyzing dreams. That was true, and it was a disappointment. Maybe next T does dream work.

I have had nightmares about the woman. I also have dreams about therapists when I do therapy, but the therapist never has a face that I see - They are always in shadows or a common recurring dream I have is where I go to an appointment with a therapist and about half-way through the appointment we both realize we are not the people who are supposed to be seeing each other - they are not the therapist I hired and I am not the client they were supposed to see.

Sort of - the dreams are 90% based on somehow missing my appointment, or desperately needing an appointment and being stressed about getting one. The other 10% were dreams of being one of the others in session with her. I mean parts, not other clients. That was for my previous T, though. I haven't dreamed of my current T that I can recall.

I recently had a dream that I was watching a movie of his life and I was not involved with or able to influence it in any way. As I write that I suspect that has to do with the nature of the therapeutic relationship. I do dream about him relatively frequently and I usually find some meaning therein.

I had a significant number of dreams about RoboT (exT). I did share those dreams with him, because there was a lot of important therapeutic stuff to dissect. It was difficult to share the super weird ones, but if I can't talk about the weird stuff in therapy, where can I?

I've had a few. All related to abandonment.

Oh my, yes, I used to have dreams like this about my long term t. In the dreams I’d take overseas or cross country flights, then trains or a bus then a fair amount of walking all of which took days only to miss my appointment with my t or get the day wrong My t at the time said clearly a “missed connection” dream!

Also another dream I used to have when I was seeing my longtime t back in the day A large wild lion walked up to me as I was sitting in the grass and would lick me on the forehead and walk away T said the dream was about how I definitely felt his affection but found it terrifying.

I used to have them like clock-work before session - and they always had the same theme. I still have them - but not as often. I almost always tell her - I didn't at first, because I was embarrassed, but now I do.

I sometimes do. My last dream was of him, taking a book from the book shelf behind him and asking if I knew the author "Aldous Huxley". I say I don't because I'm with a group of other people and I don't want to talk to him in front of anyone.

R and I talked about Brave new world in our previous session. xD

I sometimes dream about my T. Usually we are in her house or office. My brain makes up a different house for her every time, but the office is generally based on her real office. Often in the dream she ends up affectionately petting my head. I think I have told her about most of the dreams. Definitely all of the ones that feel relevant or have emotional weight behind them.

Current T has been in one or two dreams. Now I'm blanking on what they were about. I did tell him about the one, and he seemed OK about it.

I used to dream about marriage counselor fairly often, including a couple really elaborate ones. Like one where we were basically in an episode of Law & Order: SVU, and he was the psychologist. Someone was kidnapping the various detectives, so they were given protection, but MC wasn't. I insisted they had to check on him. They thought he was laying on his sofa, but it was just pillows under a blanket. Turned out he'd been kidnapped, and I managed to save him. I think he kissed me at the end... I told him about that dream (leaving out the very ending) and a couple others. His reaction to that dream was, "Oh, of course I was the short one (thinking of actor B.D. Wong).

I've also had a few about him where we were in session, then these other people came in and sat down while we were talking. And some other ones where we tried to go to session, and he wasn't there, stuff like that. Oddly, his (now late) wife has also appeared in a couple dreams, even though I haven't met her. Oh right, in one she was telling me they were moving to the Bahamas, so I told MC about that one.

Occasionally. Sometimes nightmares. I've never brought it up. I think my dreams are just brain garbage.

Sometimes. In the beginning they were a lot about feeling exposed (similar to the whole "showing up at school naked" dream), then they were about abandonment, now, I have no idea. In the last one my T was in the bathtub (fully clothed) and I was sitting outside of it and we were doing therapy that way....it was like I was taking care of her like a child..... It was bizarre.

Dreams of my therapist is something I have never experienced though I have had dreams about being in a generic therapy session.

In my dreams i am usually struggling with deciding whether to kill my T or not. We have never discussed them even though he knows.

I used to dream about my last T quite a lot, most of the dreams were weird. Of the most memorable, two of them involved her being partially nude and one of them she brought a serial killer to my house. I told T about all them. We had some interesting discussions around them and best of all she didn't appear to be freaked out by them (maybe she was just good at hiding it haha).

I do. I've had a few recently where she's holding my hand, or stroking my hair and I wake up feeling so safe and warm. I've told her some bits of dreams about her but not the stuff about hair stroking etc, i feel too weird about it. I probably will end up telling her though, eventually.

I've had a couple, mainly nice ones where she's kinda rescued me from something and made me feel safe! The last one though wasn't great, we were in the session and I started to cry, she then got really angry with me and told me to leave until I calmed myself down, but I couldn't move so she ended up just sitting watching me with not a very nice look.
