Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.
Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely. This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means. It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends. We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience. Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread. Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy! |

I think that’s first time since I’ve been here that I read thru a couch introduction. Can someone tell me why shouting cool whip gets people here?

I was wondering that too. I thought “shouting cool whip” was the innuendo equivalent of “shopping for a SIM card”.

I feel zoned out today. Like I'm here but not here. It's making work hard although I got a lot done this morning. It's more than tiredness, but I'm not sure what it is really. Kit.

Shouting cool whip simply summons coucheteers to the couch. Its like the Bat signal, or Jimmy Olsen saying, "i sure wish Superman were here!" Its NOT like Lois Lane saying, "i sure wish Superman were here! " |

Because one of the couch founders had a thing for cool whip, now we're kinda stuck with it. Anyway, somebody noticed that whenever cool whip was mentioned, oh all of a sudden you get a response, so - its the tail wagging the dog. To mix a metaphor. And probably get it wrong.

Cool whip did bring everyone out. Sort of like the oreo abomination. Cool whip is artificial, comes in improbable flavors and has fans as well as detractors . Its extra benefit, dubious though it may be, is cool whip has an array of uses, both family friendly and x rated.

I do not like my hair cut I got. There is nothing I can do about it because it’s cut really short now into a pixie. Hair this short can’t be corrected without cutting more off-so now I just have to let it grow back. I’m upset. I’m currently in this teenager mind set right now that I can’t leave the house with my hair like this.
My mom wants to see it, my sister wants to see it. So, yeah...I have to go snap a selfie of something I hate? No. I don’t think so. |

Sometimes it takes up to a week for a haircut to settle in, so maybe give it a little time? And try washing it with your own products--sometimes they put a bunch of stuff in your hair that makes it look weird. Hope you start liking it. |

She did over style it. She put one wax in then thought that looked too glossy so she put another one in..this dry powder stuff and then hairspray. By the time I got done there was so much product in my hair. I came home and rinsed myself off in the shower because I had hair all over me and I tried to style it my way. I just feel like I didn’t walk out looking any better than if I would have went to one of the discount places so that’s pretty disappointing too. So much other stuff I could have spent $125.00 on.

(((Coloroutside))) its so hard to find a good cutter. And so hard to figure out what will work on your head. Plus what i THINK i look like and what i actually look like are sooooo far apart.

That’s what everyone tells me. When I told the hairdresser my face is very round so I am worried about being “all face” with the short haircut-she said my face is not as round as i think it is. My mom and sister tell me I am not a string bean and have a little extra weight but I am not obese. And I think I look like I’m 300lbs. So I do understand what mean by what you think you look like and what you actually look like are different.
