I stopped watching 1983, switched to underground. Going to start studying in a bit.

You’re looking at the trees, not the forest. Your frequent desire to self-harm and then doing it is an ongoing crisis to your therapist. You can’t look at each incident separately and you can’t say it’s a crisis only if it’s a medical crisis; it’s a psychological crisis.
you could be right i suppose.

For me, it's a coping mechanism. Not a good one and less and less effective as I get older. But not a crisis at all.

yeah it’s a coping mechanism for me as well, and i don’t really leave scars either.

i think you might be right-it does have an addictive quality to it.

Hi everyone! Back after the weekend, got caught up on the couch. (((hugs))) to anyone that wants one! Got my Christmas cards written and sent, and did my wrapping (except for stocking stuffers). I feel much less stressed! Kit.

My T self-disclosed considerably more than normal today, and I'm trying to decide how I feel about it...I think I get nervous about it because of ex-MC. But it was directly related to stuff we were discussing about my D, not totally random. And it made me feel understood and connected. Still...

Self disclosure was always sort of weird for me when T would do that. I mean it was sort of confusing. I kind of liked it. I was kind of bothered by it. I kind of saw how it related to me. I kind of wondered why she was bringing it up. So I get that you have to try to decide how you feel about it, LT. I never could make up my mind how I felt about it. I felt too much different stuff about it. Kit.

T appointment in two days. Looking forward to it and not looking forward to it at the same time. Weird. I hate once a month. It's like not enough to get something rolling, and it's too long in between, then again, I don't talk a lot. Kit.

Are you safe? Do you have anything to distract you-even if it's just mindless TV? Can you curl up in bed? Eat something nice?

It’s not like it hasn’t been mentioned in class repeatedly and it’s not like the information isn’t all over the course website and it’s not like the university doesn’t post a final exam schedule. Oh no.

It is a even worse sign if they do it 27 minutes before the exam starts.

Whew, what a day! Hey couchies, I'm passing out relaxing drinks and comfort foods if anyone needs any. I could go for a hot chocolate even though the a/c is on right now. Also a sign that I never check the weather, I'm making chili tonight. Go me!

Worker's comp audit next week at work. Yeah. (Sarcasm) Can't contain my excitement (more sarcasm). At least this year, I know what to expect. Unfortunately, it's the day after my trip to Disneyland, so I'll be thinking about that when I'm riding Pirates of the Caribbean! Kit.

Hot chocolate with whipped cream sounds pretty good to me! It's around 50 degrees here today so not cold, but sweater weather at least. Kit.

I'm feeling your end of the semester pain. I am ready to be done with this group. They aren't horrible, but they are testing my patience. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. LOL

Glad you understand. Ex-MC did it ALL the time, like multiple things a session. I know way too much about his family (mainly his kids, but also a couple siblings), his college and grad school days, his time as a camp counselor, etc. I think it definitely contributed to the transference, particularly the stuff about his kids.

Current T doesn't tend to self-disclose much (particularly not about his son), and wouldn't answer/dodged certain questions I asked him early on (like political beliefs and type of car he drove, though he ultimately revealed those just in general conversation--still evasive about his religion, though I'm 99% sure he's Jewish). So that's part of why today threw me, since it *was* a bit about his son and also some of his thoughts on the causes of autism (his son and my D are both on the spectrum). Hm, and something about his grad school experience, too. It's like part of me wants to know more, for him to share more, but part of me is afraid of it and the effect it could have on me.

I don't want to work this afternoon. 35 more minutes though I guess I can do it...
That's not much at all with almost 9.5 hrs already done.... tired of all this OT but I do admit I like the paychecks!
