Hello all
I’ve not followed as many threads /read as many posts over the holiday period as a consequence of commitments/tiredness etc but predominantly because it’s an awful time of year to be stuck on a never ending rollercoaster in my head

Everything feels more extreme and more personal and that can include OP’s thought/opinions

Maybe ,on occasion, that makes it harder to engage with other posters as compassionately and non judgementally as we would normally

Just a thought-no way am I interested in a bland discussion but some have felt a bit edgy and if anybody can relate to what I’m saying I would like to wish us all some peace of mind through this new year holiday period

did you mean "ops" as in general or a specific op? Do you mean that the forums seem more...intense? I am new here so that is why I am asking.

Possibly but I find it a intense place normally. I only post here because there's a huge lack of other spots to post and there's a few decent people who can talk to others respectfully.

Sorry. This made me laugh.
Tension in this forum is the norm.
I think it's what makes it susscessful.

Happy New year.

Unless anyone wants to argue about the happy bit 😂👍

I can relate and I reckon there is something in your reasoning.

Hope you all have a new year that suits

thanks for your responses-I I had no specific posters in mind just felt a bit more rigidly in personal opinions over last couple weeks which might relate to increased external pressures at this time of year
I didn’t use the word “tension”- I’m not naive I understand the function of a forum lol

What are you talking about? The word tension is in the title of the thread. Someone has been on the New Year sherry...

Sorry :-)

I do,however, genuinely hope that those of us badly affected by the season can start to feel a little more contained now the “celebrations “ are done

I agree- my T told me that he isn't trying to get rid of his patient load just so he can have a White Christmas . . I am a card carrying member of the syndrome you describe, having missed more sessions in a row than in my whole three years of therapy combined. Fears are amplified, the routine is off lol. I will be glad to be recontained .

I am probably an oddball from this trend as well - I've never felt increased stress and tension during the end-of-year holiday season. It's one of my favorite times of the year. I feel a bit anxious and tense now because I'll have a crazy first two months of the year work-wise, which I m just starting now, still wishing there were a few more days left from the quiet times...

I think this forum can get intense at any time, often it comes in bursts when there are particularly provocative threads or posters around.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
