Eta: also I can only take so much Paul. About 25 minutes a day, max.
I don't sit. I walk back and forth and around the room while watching.

Since we’re on the subject...I don’t get how I’m supposed to feel about Paul. What did the makers of the show intend? Sympathy? Admiration? Detestment? I only feel the last.

The actor is very good, but I don’t get what I’m meant to think of the central character.

I felt destestment for the character as well. I think the actor playing him is very good.

That must be annoying, walking while turning to your head to the screen.

I have to use the closed-captioning, so I do stuff that lets me keep my eyes on the screen, like lifting dumbbells.

I don't quite know yet myself how I feel about him. I think mostly sympathetic. I think the actor is really good, too. I get drawn in and forget he's acting.

It is unlikely that you fail at everything.
Sounds like you are depressed. How are you treating that?

I couldn't get that either. I felt like I kind of got what they were after in season one, which I enjoyed, but I stopped watching mid season 2 when I found myself thinking: Why am I even watching this? Gabriel Byrne was great in his role. I just was frustrated by the story; it felt sort of directionless.

Reading the Couch commentary, I've been wondering if I could skip to season 3 without finishing season 2.

Once published, the author's opinion is completely irrelevant. The characters belong to the audience now.

I think the only two stories I watched to completion in Season 2 were April and Gina. I think the April story was really interesting, so I'd suggest watching those--plus one of them gives an update on something from Season 1. For some reason didn't get into the other ones.

I disagree that it’s completely irrelevant. One, it measures how successful they were at implementing their vision. Two, understanding the creators’ intent helps the audience understand why things were done as they were, otherwise they might be puzzled. Three, no one reads say a Hemingway novel without thinking about what he intended.

Unless visual media isn’t meant to be analyzed at all, because it’s merely an opiate for the masses. I think that’s false.

I've skipped past a couple Amy/Jake episodes. I don't care for either of them.

A jungian wrote about each episode here
In Treatment-1 | Jung At Heart

But there are spoilers so if you care - don't read about episodes you haven't seen.

I tried pumpkin spice cheerios last fall. They were OK. Kind of crunchy.

My bed desk has arrived. I’ll have to put it together this weekend.
