I am sure it is not pleasant to receive such an email, but I know there were days when dealing with the pharmaceutical /insurance/ etc industries for my person where that would have been the mildest response possible that I could have had towards a rep after dealing with them.

Am I the only one who sees candles as fire death sticks waiting to happen.

And yet people report seeing them as cozy or comforting. Between death sticks of fire and a therapist - cozy comfort would be the farthest thing possible from my mind were I to find myself in a room containing the combination of the two.

I like candles, with cats in the house though I use only the big ones in glass jars like the village candle ones. and i never leave it in a room by itself, if i leave the room i bring it with me or blow it out. and i don't put them where the cats like to go just to be safe.

i enjoyed when Leticia would have candles lit, those combined with the natural light coming through the window shades (they were privacy shades that still let light through) was a perfect amount of warm light. it was always so very relaxing in her office.

I just came across this study on tapering that supports what patients have been saying forever--that withdrawal is hell and needs to be done differently. Their rec is that tapering be done over a course of months, not weeks. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/l...032-X/fulltext Would it be possible for you to restart your taper? Seems like a valid need for a consultation to me. |

The thought of being in a dark room with only candles and a therapist in dim light actually gives me a bit of panic. They could trap you. Or set the room on fire.
Neither sounds like fun. __________________ Please NO @ Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. Oscar Wilde Well Behaved Women Seldom Make History - Laurel Thatcher Ulrich Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. |

The therapist would no doubt say that it was better to light a candle than to curse the darkness and use it as a metaphor. DBC had candles. I always asked her to blow them out because they stank and gave me a headache. __________________ The secret to eternal youth is arrested development.—Alice Roosevelt Longworth |

Sometimes, one wants to curse the darkness more than have the actual light. It can be satisfying in its own way.
Plus, once one tires of darkness cursing, the candle will probably still be there. __________________ Please NO @ Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. Candles have always made me nervous. Since discovering flameless ones, I've never looked back. But I would prefer my therapy candle-less, flame or no.

Stick with me, baby - we'll give Cracker Barrel a wide berth! No Stuckey's, no Cinnabons, no KFC.
My candy store sweetie said he was a weird but simple eater. He sure talks a lot. We shared our addresses yesterday (or whenever it was we talked) (he moved to my building / complex recently, he used to live down the block). He shares a lot about himself. Semi-private stuff. Im gonna ask about his love life. Im pretty sure his boss and the boss's wife have already pitched me to him. So not embarrassing at all Last edited by unaluna; Mar 17, 2019 at 07:55 PM.. |

Part of me wants to try to power through. I don't want to drag everything out if I can get it over with. But I'm scared because I read that the withdrawal effects can last a long time. The new SSRI doesn't seem to be doing anything, although I think it probably made the withdrawal effects less severe... the physical ones, at least. I can't bring myself to call my psychiatrist. I feel like I can't speak. Will probably send her a message through the EMR, though. |

DD’s heart surgery went well. Very grateful.
She came home yesterday and is healing nicely. |

TW if you react badly to anything bodily fluid/GI-related.
Possible trigger:
I don’t think it’s the cold as this was really sudden. There are a couple other things that make me think it might be celiac. I’ve been told not to start eating gluten free until my doctor says so because it can screw up the results of later tests (alter labwork and endoscopy results). But, how can I go in front of a class knowing this might happen? |
