Student cheated on an exam today using a smart watch (this possibility never occurred to me )Another student reported it and another student confirmed her account—unfortunately after he left, so I don’t have a name. I have three candidates.

Man I have such a guilty conscious if I even thought about cheating on an exam, I might as well hold up a sign announcing it. I still wonder what horrible things I must have done in a previous life that I'm like this. Therapy could not make it go away.

I'm glad another student reported it. When I was a student, it always bothered me when I saw someone cheating but I never spoke up.

On a similar note, a person I go to Disneyland with frequently will chase after people she sees cutting in line and confronts them. I die of embarrassment after all, she doesn't work at Disneyland, but it just bothers her so much. It bothers me too, but I can shrug it off and still have fun at Disneyland.

I would not have reported it as a student and I would just be pissed I had to deal with it as a professor. Particularly if the snitches didn't give a name. And I don't like snitches.

Luckily the only thing I teach is a religious class and there's no grades or anything so it's just for your own learning and enjoyment. Frequently if someone has a good answer we are all like "ooh!" and write it in our books to refer back to later. If I was a prof I would be P.O.'ed also.

It would have been more useful had she told me during the exam. She provided a description but as it’s a large lecture course did not know his name.

Last week I asked Info if she could recommend a dietitian to help me adjust to a gluten-free diet and avoid pitfalls.
I saw her earlier. Judging by that appointment, dietitians annoy me nearly as much as therapists. __________________ The secret to eternal youth is arrested development.—Alice Roosevelt Longworth |

In college I caught two guys cheating once but didn't report it. It bothered me though because I was trying to take the test the fair way and their cellphones were distracting me. I'm not sure how the professor missed it, it was pretty obvious.

I got a text earlier from my t saying she needed to reschedule tomorrow's appointment. Not sure whether it's a good sign or a bad one that I felt relieved instead of disappointed.

The house I toured on Sunday has a sister... Same Floorplan and everything... That just came on the market. It's in much better condition than the first one so I'm going to take a tour tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

For my professional development this semester I’m doing an online pedagogical training thing.
I’ve just learned the beginning and end of class are prime learning times. Sure. In the middle, the authors suggest playing music, watching a (fun and unrelated) video, or leading the class in a relaxation exercise. |

Cat joke. Junior cat would have approved.
Bartender: What'll it be? Cat: Shot of whiskey. *Bartender pours it.* *Cat slowly pushes it off the bar and onto the floor.* Cat: Another. |

Strictly speaking, dietitians and nutritionists aren't the same thing. Dietitians are licensed healthcare professionals. They have at minimum a BS, but many have graduate degrees. They have to do an internship and take a registration test. Nutritionists, on the other hand, can basically be anybody who wants to claim the title. They are the "life coaches" of the diet/nutrition scene.
