Except for the offer to take the therapist shopping, that was one of the closest renditions of how I experienced therapy thus far.

The more I learn in this class the more I realize just how cosmic-ly freaking crazy it is that we (we as in mankind) are even here at all.

And I am not exactly sure how I feel about this!

This made me think of Info (sorry every time I try to post the link - gibberish ensues)
(note -this is a joke but if you are easily offended by The Onion or life itself- don't look.)

From The Onion:

SOUTHAMPTON, PA—Insisting that it was just their nana’s “special way” of saying goodbye, mourners confirmed Friday that the Shreve family had respected their grandmother’s wishes to have an opened-bloused funeral. “I know it makes some people a little uncomfortable to see her lying there, shirt open and tits out, but this is how she wanted to be remembered,” said 59-year-old family matriarch Cecelia Shreve through tears, who went on to credit the mortician’s tasteful presentation, and for “making those knockers look 20 years younger.” “You know, it’s not for everyone, but I think seeing her rack out in the open really helped bring the room some closure. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t change the fact that tomorrow, I have to wake up in a world where my mom and her beautiful bazongas aren’t around anymore. God bless ‘the girls.’” ...

Yeah that seems about right. The shopping was the only off note. And the what are you doing this weekend.

I just learned timely for this couch name what causes the aurora - collisions between charged solar wind particles trapped in the magnetosphere that follow the magnetic field. Something like that.

I am lounging with coffee before heading out for a busy day: Fabric store, plant sale, dig up garden boxes in the rain, clean the bathrooms, fix a little bobble in the blanket I sewed yesterday, make sure people get fed some kind of evening meal. I've got a formerly surly teen (surly until I gave the "Dude, what the heck?" soft lecture, after which he got nice-ish again) raking the leaves off my boxes right now so I can dig and plant when I get home.

Let's see how much of that I actually get done. Wish me luck.

I need to read chapter 10 and learn about Planetary Atmospheres, then after I get back home it'll probably be time to head out to meet a couple of my friends for lunch. I can't wait to give my one friend's little girl the pink afghan I made for her, I hope she loves it! Last time we went to lunch we were there for several hours, I expect the same thing will happen today. We get to gabbing and don't want to stop. Since we all work at home now, we have started getting together once a month for lunch to stay social. We're going to a place I haven't been yet, called Prep & Pastry, it's a breakfast/brunch kinda place. So I figure it will be a nice way to reward myself for both getting in 2 miles of walking and studying this morning. Have a good rest of the day couchies, hugs and headnods all around.
I hope you have fun Artie.

The pastry place sounds nice. And I think the meet up will do you good, and it's a nice way to treat yourself .

So, along with t’s chairs and no couch... about a year ago I walked in the office and there were these two ugly, big decorative pillows in the chairs. I was annoyed, because they are cumbersome and ugly, and just in the way. I mentioned to t that they don’t match the chairs or the curtains in his office. He then went in to say yeah I know, if I happen to find some that matched, and were smaller I could pick them up and the practice would reimburse me. I thought that was probably weirdest thing t has ever said to me.

Someone else sent me this recently. Funny thing is, I had that exact conversation with my last supervisor. His chair was waaay higher than mine. I didn't like it at all.

I just spent 1/2 of my Saturday afternoon at a party for a 1 year old. There were about 60 people and honestly the baby (my niece) was so tired because it ran into her nap time. She was tired of being shuffled around from person to person. I can’t blame the little baby. I swear these things are just an excuse to throw a party it’s not like the 1 year old cared if there was a party or not.

Yeah, a baby wouldn't care about so many people. It's probably mostly for the parents.

I love celebrating the small stuff. That would be too many people for me. I don't think they get the concept until a bit older anyway. But i'd probs do the same if I have a baby. xD
