I pay mine by PayPal one time a month, at the end of the month, for the whole month. All I do is click one button and dont have to think about it.

It does not feel awkward to pay my T. It feels much more awkward not to pay her.
I pay by check. I write the check the night before, fold it and put it in my wallet. At the end of the session I hand it to her before leaving, and she always says thank you. There have been times when I haven't paid her. A couple years back I went on medical leave. It was unfortunate because I was getting some expensive medical treatments and short term disability insurance paid only $200/week. My T wasn't covered by my insurance and I was paying a reduced rate to see her, but it was still $70/week that I just didn't have. She let me keep seeing her weekly for 3 months at no charge. There have been a few other times where she's said to use what I would've paid her to offset the cost of some other self-care thing or something. It feels really awkward to not pay her. Anyone putting up with me for so long deserves to be paid. |
