I had to cancel my session with T yesterday, because I've been in bed about 2 weeks, with pneumonia. I've also had to cancel or will cancel my participation in a few events in April. I'm out of sick leave, and am going around and around with my HR office. They say they need a certain document, I remind them that I'm home in bed. In the meantime, next week I will schedule an appointment with a new neurologist, to see if he can figure out some scary and disabling symptoms. I worry about possible changes to my medications, as well as potentially filing for disability and/or retiring. All of this, plus a few other pieces of darkness are swirling around in my brain, like one gigantic rumination. Help.

This sounds like an awful lot to deal with and I'm sorry you're stuck with it. I wonder if it would be possible to have a phone session with T since you're laid up.

Oh no! I'm so sorry - that sounds really rough. I had "walking pneumonia" once, and it sucked... I ended up having to sleep sitting up on my couch, because laying down made me cough really badly. (My doctor ended up giving me an inhaler at that point, thank goodness, to stop the coughing.) I can't imagine how much worse being stuck in bed with actual pneumonia is.

What do you need for help? Is there anything tangible we can do from far away?

For HR... are they really not understanding this? What kind of document do they need, is it something from your doctor? (I'm trying to think of how you could get what you need, with the least effort and stress... like if your doctor's office has email, could you reach out that way so you don't have to speak to anyone and ask them to send something to your HR people?)

*hugs* I'm so sorry you're sick, and that you've got all the other things going on too. I hope you start to feel better soon!

I'm sorry you have pneumonia. I hope you feel better soon. I understand about all the worries swirling around in your head too! I now have GAD and feel shaky inside most of the time! It's hard! Can you listen to calming meditations or visualizations? How is your T's health? I haven't been around here much so I may have missed updates. I do hope you feel better physically and emotionally soon! It's so difficult when we have physical AND emotional problems. Hugs!
