I’m so sorry.

I’m not sure of your circumstances but I’ll just put this out there-
I’m disabled due to depression and other medical reasons. In my state, Medicaid, I believe, will pay for transportation to and from medical appointments.

It might be Medicare that pays for this. I haven’t used it yet but my T mentioned it once when my car was in the shop.

Perhaps you can look into that if you have either insurance.

Also, I live near a hospital and a complex of medical offices...they offer low cost or free transportation to and from medical appointments within their complex.

If you are disabled, or even if you’re not, you might look into Senior Care organizations in your city to find out what services might be available to help you in your circumstance.

For instance, if I lived near Carmel, Indiana, I could contact this organization for information no matter what insurance I have.
PrimeLife Enrichment | Home

Also, I found that my local Medicaid office hands out resource guides with information on transportation, legal help, local food pantries, health and dental services, etc. it’s several pages long. They keep copies in their front desk here. All I need to do is stop by and pick one up.
Let me look and see if I can find a resource guide online-

I found a resource guide online for my area. All I needed to do was search,
Medicaid, Indiana, *County* and search for ‘resource guide.’
Honestly, I feel the resource guide available in my county’s Medicaid office already printed out is easier to read and navigate than the one I found online.

Resource guides should available in each county of each state. There should be one available for you...and it lists resources that are available *even if you are not on Medicaid.*

It’s worth a look!
Hope this is helpful.

I don’t qualify for either of those insurances unfortunately so I have only one option.

Actually, you may have more options than you know.

You can still pick up a resource guide if you want. They include resources for people who *do not* have Medicare or Medicaid, as well.

The local senior organization I listed above (for instance) helps people who are not fifty-five or older or disabled. Your local senior center could lead you to services that fit your situation.

I have phoned their social worker several times and she was helpful giving me information about housing choices, for instance. I didn’t have to go in (although I could have). I didn’t have to fill out paperwork. This social worker was happy to do what she knew how to do to help answer my questions.

Do what you want but I don’t see a downside into looking into some of these resources.

I find I’m much less anxious and depressed about a problem or situation when I have some sort of plan to problem-solve it. Hope it will be the same for you.

Thanks so much for that information.

I feel like canceling my appointment because of the office manager. It’s not even something that should make me upset but I’m just feeling low. I shouldn’t cancel because it had nothing to do with T but I’m depressed, anxious, and exhausted from insomnia last night so I’m sure that’s causing this reaction. Someone please help me to not make the mistake of canceling my appointment.

Please don't cancel your appointment. What happened with the office manager?

It’s silly so I don’t know why it irritated me. She said let her know if I want to cancel my appointment and it annoyed me because I set everything up to come. Maybe I was irritated because I wrote her back and told her that I would be there and asked her about my sessions in May and told her that I would be able to come to my May appointments if I could catch my bill up in May and asked her if that was a problem and she never said yes or no.

That made me feel like not even going even though that wasn’t T’s fault. I’m just so overwhelmed with everything right now and I feel like I’m drowning. I’m really suffering right now. I am in absolute agony.

I think I’m going to tell them that I can’t come this week because I’m so overwhelmed with everything that is happening that I just want to stay in bed all week. I’m so close to doing that.

Oh my! Please go to your appointment. This might be information your T needs to know about your patient experience.

You should go to your appointment. Like you said, you'll likely regret it if you don't.
