When I woke this morning, I thought, "Hey, I feel a tiny bit better." I made it all the way to climbing the stairs at work and realized: Nope. This will not do. So I grabbed my work laptop and came home.
A year ago, six months ago, I'd have "pushed through" or whatever not-taking-care-of-myself nonsense I'd have used to tell myself I needed to stay at work even though I feel wretched. Maybe by next time, I'll have learned to just call in sick and stay in bed. (Which, surely, is what the cat would have advised in the first place could he speak.) __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. We will have a lot of money left over from the sale of the house and after we pay our debts. And we are scheduled to get the money on May 21st.
I can't get in to see her this week. Her only slot was today at 9am. She's taking a vacation or something. I won't be able to see her until next Wednesday. I did write her an email last night telling her my feelings and fears. I just worry that it comes off as manipulative. I just feel so hopeless right now. __________________ "Odium became your opium..." ~Epica |

I think calling in sick is the right thing to do most of the time. Plaguing co - workers with one's illness is never the thing to do. You feel bad, are not productive, spread germs etc. It seems to me better to just take the time needed to recover so that when you get back you actually are able to work rather than just sit there in a germy gooey fog

but your fears of abandonment are understandable given that she is going away soon. can she give you the contact details of another t just incase you need it? will she allow contact whilst she's away? __________________ "Love, like life, flows Through the heart. ibuprophen
Ah it might just be an Una thing- I've never seen it spelt like this.I thought it was standard. I make mistakes when i write, but that's because i either skip words out completely or i can't spell. I also recently used to instead of too. __________________ "Love, like life, flows Through the heart. Feel the thrill of the flow And say nothing." |

Part of why I love my T: I was saying how much I appreciated his reducing my fee (due to insurance changing my reimbursement) and how I hoped it was OK with him. T (grinning): "Well, I just planned on decreasing the quality of my therapy by the same percentage." Later in session, I said I wanted to address a particular topic, and he was like, "So, how do we do that?" Me: "Is this part of the reduction in therapy quality, I have to answer that question?" T: "Yes."

My therapist shared the following post with me about Social Anxiety. and it is the first website that has accurately depicted how I feel each day. I found it to be very validating as to my experience.
I also have an attachment disorder, and I think sometimes that it is my social anxiety that causes me to constantly seek reassurance to see if we are okay. I just thought I would share it in case it can help anybody else. [URL="https://socialanxietyinstitute.org/living-with-social-anxiety"] I'm not sure if the link works or not, but if not, google "what is it like to have social anxiety?" and the social anxiety institute.org should come up.. __________________ |

I would guess it's a carry over from the US term for Paracetamol. Acetaminophen or something?

I just woke up from a nap. Time for another soak and more ibupro-stuff! I'm glad I opted to take care of myself instead of pushing through a 10 hour day hurting.

Just be careful: the thinking on NSAIDs has changed over the years. Doses of 800mg used to be passed out like candy, but now we know that NSAIDs are cardio-toxic, especially with regular use or high dose short term use. I always start with Tylenol at the lowest dose, then add as necessary. Or for anything with inflammation, the lowest dose of ibuprofen, followed by the lowest dose of Tylenol, if needed after @ 30 min. Most of the time, I don't need the next dose. It's ok to mix them as they work through different mechanisms, acc to my dr. I've also found the gelcaps really do work better and faster.
