Healed, I am thankful my T doesnít work in an office like that but I do have anxiety about people knocking or coming in. Thankfully my T knows that would be extremely disturbing to me. His fault or not he would expect to have to do a lot of repair it Iíve work to get us to OK again. I suspect he would expect a lot of emails and over the top emotional reactions. His office is my only safe space and for someone to violate that he would take just as seriously as any other form of abuse.
I am sorry your T has not emailed, they may be trying to resolve the issue of interruptions or may be feeling very upset about it themselves. Hopefully you can talk it out next session.

It really bothered me and made me feel less important. I wonder if part of the reaching out to your T and desperately wanting a reply is to sort of assert your presence, that you're important, too? Maybe coming from a younger place? (which your T should understand). I hope your T responds in some way. When are you due to see him next?

I think you may be right.. I have essentially been in crisis mode for awhile now. T knows about my SI and how bad my anxiety has been. So, while t has me not doing well in his office, he ends the appointment to deal with another one on the phone in crisis. It feels so degrading to me in away, which is silly because like I said we were at the end of the session. We were wrapping things up.

Anyways, I don't have an appointment with t this week.. He was all booked, I am on the cancellation list which generally means I won't get an appointment. I think have been called in from the cancellation list twice in the 7 years I have been seeing him. I was seeing him every other week up until this month, going weekly in April and I just scheduled weekly for may.

Healedóto be honest if you were at the end of your session I donít see what difference two minutes would have made to the other client; the receptionist could have gotten them to hang on for that length of time. I think your feelings are completely legitimate. Endings of sessions can be even more important than the rest of the session.

As for emailing him, heís just shown you in session that for him the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I donít think you should feel bad about all the emails. I do think you have the right to a response, just like that client apparently had a right to interrupt your session. Would a phone message get him to respond via phone or email?

I don't think it is wrong to expect the therapist to treat the whole time the client pays for with respect. He did not do so here - I think it is perfectly reasonable to call him out on it.
I don't believe that clients need put up with bad behavior from therapists. Women particularly seem to think they are only deserving of little crumbs of kindness and not make waves. To that I say ********.

This was my initial frustration.. she has his schedule and knew we would be ending very shortly. Phone message are less effective than emails for getting t to respond. Thanks for the validation. It makes me feel not so needy/child like.

I miss T so much. L is not T. Her email back was not reassuring. I don't care if she'll "hold in her mind" what I wrote. T would always tell me that everything would be okay. I need T not L!
