Mt T always stops EMDR when I dissociate. He says EMDR stops working and your brain is no longer processing when you dissociate. Any T that keeps going when you dissociate does not sound like they have much training.

t3 suggested EMDR for me for the childhood trauma/phobias but he doesn't do it. Baby T said it could be helpful for me but it's supposedly 10 weeks and I couldn't see a regular T then, if I went with someone in his company.

I'm unsure if EMDR is the way to go but I also feel like I'm a big fail with talk therapy so idk. Any feedback is helpful.
My psychologist is a certified EMDR specialist, who trained under Francine Shapiro Ph.D.

Years ago, I asked him if I could just receive EMDR treatments without psychotherapy. That is when he explained that talk therapy must be used in conjunction with EMDR. After doing this for many years, I could not see myself doing it without any talk therapy.

My T also also stops when I disassociate/freeze.Even if she didn't it would be a waste of time. I lose all ability to think beyond a very basic level. That is why it is important for us to take things very slowly and make sure I am grounded.
