I will prick the skin with a fork so they dont explode, then wrap in a damp paper towel. Microwave for like 3 to 5 minutes, then let set in the oven for the same amount of time.

Do you sit in the microwave for the same amount of time or put them in the oven?

It depends on the size, but to do a jacket potato I wash it, pierce the skin a couple times with a fork, put in the microwave 4 minutes, flip it, then microwave again for 4 minutes. Let it sit a couple minutes.

No, I just put it on a microwavable plate. What does the paper towel do? Make the skin crispier?

Hmmm. The bread’s taste is right but it’s very dry and didn’t rise enough. I think it needs more water than my conversion said.

I just discovered there is a Downton Abbey movie with the most ridiculous storyline. A royal visit! I can't believe a family of their standing would not be familiar with at least the basics of royal protocol of a royal visit, like the Queen brings her own staff.

If you want a laugh or bored to death in equal measures, it's the most preposterous show. I dragged my way through the first series and watched one episode of the second to discover it was the same premise every single time.

I don't know nothing about GF baking. But I thought this was an interesting article about ancient grains and it says which ones are GF--maybe some you haven't thought of?

I think the only option you have now would be to move.

You haven't missed much. I couldn't get into it and gave up after that man died in their home.

There's a 3 part documentary on youtube called Servants: The True Story of Life Below Stairs which you might like.

I really liked the book "how to win friends and influence people". The very first time I tried the tips I was pretty much amazed that they actually worked and they're so simple. One of them was to listen twice as much as you talk, because peeps love talking about themselves. If in doubt do what a Niles does:

YouTube

Nod and say uh-huh.
