Art, I know this seems like a perfect solution to your dilemma, and I probably seem like I'm throwing cold water on it, but I have known 5 couples in open marriages over the years. For some it worked, for some it didn't. The ones it worked for, the original marriage was solid at heart--good communication, a high level of trust, no co-dependency, supportive of each other even when hearing about the other relationships, still physically attracted to each other.

The ones it didn't work for were the ones where the open marriage idea was being used to paper over cracks in the original marriage. In one case, the wife had had an affair. In the other, the husband had come out as gay. Basically, things were just as bad as before for those couples.

Aww baby, but there's 11 years between me and my youngest sister. She was around 12/13 going when she went on about the containers. I went through all my stoof on my own. I used to be so ashamed of even buying sanitary towels from the store and I didn't want the same for her. Why should she feel ashamed of her sexuality and her body?

I don’t personally know anyone in an open marriage though I suspect some people I know are, but I only suspect it. I don’t know for sure if they are.

T left me the voicemail! I'm so happy! She said she's probably going to give me a call around October 1st to set up an appointment for around November 1st. So excited! Things with L are okay. I just seem to be getting hurt a lot. I think it mostly has to do with our time being so limited.
