Yes I think T's role model what "good" parents were supposed to be like. It has helped repair some of the damaged done but it has also caused parts, especial young parts, to see T as a parent and they cry so much and throw tantrums when I visualize the reality that T is not our parents and will be tossing us out of the nest eventually with no further contact.

I have a related PTSD trigger. Do you mind? Obviously I would delete the thread if I could, but the site restricts such permissions. |

Why did you have to say that so rudely? I sincerely was interested that’s all. I’m sorry you are triggered. __________________ "I carried a watermelon?" President of the no F's given society. |

You're right. I'm sorry Sarah. I had to take an extended break from therapy and am not handling it so well. Especially with Father's Day coming up. It sucks to not feel safe posting here.

I thought the woman would have been a worse parent than the ones I had

When the therapist echoes things the mother has recently said, it pisses me off. Recently, she did that about something to C and even she was annoyed and snapped that she sounded just like her mom. The therapist said "uh oh."
Sometimes she is also kind of annoying about school stuff. Like doing my homework and whatnot. __________________ Life is hard. Then you die. Then they throw dirt in your face. -David Gerrold |
