I feel like I am going crazy. I imagine talking to my T practically all day — like they are right there with me as I go about my normal day.

Do other people do this? And to what extent?

I do this, but not as much as I used to. With ex-T, I used to talk to her every day. With L, I talk with her to prepare what I want to say in session. I'm actually doing it tonight because I bought her two books and I'm trying to plan out how to tell her.

When I talk to people in my head, sometimes I even do it outloud. But most the time it remains in my head.

Yes. A lot. I describe things that have happened to him in my head. I discuss what I am going to talk about next week, or what happened in the last session over and over and over all all week. It's a lot like you describe, like having imaginary T as a near-constant companion.

Yup. I do this sometimes. Sometimes it even helps me to work out my problems on my own so I don't have to bring it up in session.

Sometimes I have intense arguments with him in my head which is unlike the way that I interact with him in person.

Heck, I have imaginary conversations with myself. LOL! I've done that all my life. I have imaginary conversations with lots of people. It's pretty normal, even out loud.

I've always like this interview/conversation about this subject: The Running Conversation in Your Head - The Atlantic

I do sometimes with Emdr. Usually it is preparing what and how I will say things. I also think about how she will respond except other than being supportive I really dont know what she will say.

With T I talked to her a lot. I had the conversations about what to say but usually I knew somewhat how I would respond. I also talk to her about how I would proceed with a difficult situation. I still talk to her quite a bit now it's trying to seek her knowledge and sometimes vent. I often write an email that gets saved as a draft.

Darn right I do. It helps me form what I am going to say in my session and how I am going to present it. Kind of making an outline in my head.

Sometimes I do this. It helps me to think of what I need to say, or sometimes to sort out what I don't need to say. And then some weeks I don't think about therapy from the time I leave the office until it's time to go to the next appointment a week later.

Yeah all the time. I always forget stuff though when I’m actually in session. I also do this with my doctor and people at work.

I sure do! I have imaginary conversations with everyone though. I think it's how I practice what I want to say.

I do this sometimes. She is as rude and as inconsistent in my imagination as she is in the therapy room.

We talk all the time as multiple it can be a way of life. We are plural so it doesn't matter even if imaginary friend. You probably do it more than you realize anyway.
