I’m at my Dad’s, and we’ve had a crazy couple of days. Monday evening we had 12 inches of rain in 4 hours. The roads out of the subdivision were all flooded, so we’ve been stranded on our own sort of island for a couple of days. We finally managed to drive through the water which has gone down some but is still over the roads and get to the store, etc.

But google says $25.87. 2486.8% inflation.

I used this:

Inflation Calculator | Find US Dollar's Value from 1913-2019

But sadly, purchasing power of the dollar is lower now than in 1913. So in "real" dollars, your service is only worth @ $1.29. Sorry, @@.

And that sex toy is clearly waaaaaaay overpriced!

Oh my goodness. my son just called he and his gf went over to their apartment to start getting things ready for the exterminator after he got off work today, and the a/c is out. it's like 100 degrees in there. Hopefully the heat will kill the bugs. i don't know. they are both so stressed out over this more than i had realized and my son is so pissed off (again more than i had realized). they need to break their lease and get the hell out of there. it didn't seem like a bad place from the reviews we read and stuff but... wow. it's bad. it sounds like the management doesn't give a **** at all about them. they didn't even check the apartment right below them for bugs, which is where my son suspects they came from in the first place because he's heard the woman complaining about itching and stuff. He's calling his dad now, I don't really know what to tell them or what they should do. this totally sucks for them. they can't even live there and management is not giving them a break on the rent. it's nuts.

Art, is there a Housing and Neighborhood Development dept in your city government? They'd be the place to lodge a complaint and request an inspection. Some cities also have a legal aid sort of office to represent residents in housing complaints for little/no charge.
