He's unwell. Practically dying, and I miss my dbt group. My case manager wants me get an ALS worker, and drop my other groups. But that's my social network of people my age that I see regularly, sort of.
If I get a therapist from this particular place I can rejoin the dbt group. That's my most beneficial group. It's for the graduates of the dbt course, kind of a refresher, keep our skills sharp. But my therapist I see now is awesome! However he's sickly. And the other place therapists just aren't as good. However I was more stable under their care, because it's a huge support network. I'm really wondering if I should switch therapists? I have one I was seeing over there, so I know what I'd be in for. I actually need to take notes in therapy he's just that knowledgeable. I really like his technique better. I complained about the type of therapy I was getting at the other place. Told her I needed more input. Would you switch great for good but with more supports? Or stick with great? All my therapies are changing and I may want to revert back to one of my group therapies because it was very helpful. __________________ Son: 14, 12/15/2009 R.I.P. Well, if he's that unwell it could be you won't have the option of seeing him for that long. I would therefore consider taking advantage of what he can offer you for the time being, since a similar opportunity might not come around again. Sounds like the other place and groups will still be there if you decide to go back, so there's no need to make a hasty decision.

Personally, I find group support far more helpful than individual therapy.
