I'm disappointed about something, but it seems too trivial to bother my T with, so I am trying not to call her. I figured I could ask you.
So, how do you handle disappointment? Little Cool's feelings are hurt, and Big Cool doesn't know, at the moment, how to comfort her. __________________ In a world where you can be anything, be kind. ; |

I handle disappointment with a big deep breath. In the case of my T, if he disappoints me (he almost always does, because my expectations are unrealistic), I try to change my perspective to his:
Did he know he was disappointing me when he did/said that? If no, do I need to tell him? Is it fair to expect him to not disappointment in that way? If yes, talk to him. If no, next step. What is his perspective? What is a realistic expectation here? What are the limits of his job? |
