I love my trifocals. I dont like the glasses with the hard lines in them. They say you get used to them, but i dont think i could. I got a pair by mistake once, and they made me want to cry. And not much makes me want to do that. Eta - i went and talked to our boyfriend in the little store today. I told him i was concerned about HIM, because I have been completely IMMERSED in the impeachment stuff, and figured he was similarly distraught. We had a nice little chat i bought some Comet. |

It has been really hard introducing my daughters puppy to my pets. The cats still hiss at him and funnily the most cowardly of my cats chasese him around the yard, the poor puppy doesnt realise nobody likes him and he is so in-your-face, just as my dog seems to want to be friends the puppy who is 3 times his size accidently treads on him or drops a toy on my dogs head.

Morning Couch - feeling like a coiled spring today, even though the immediate situation has passed.

Thanks, @Lemoncake.
Yoga is my go-to, but there's always the thing of remembering that it helps. I did a brief practice, albeit interrupted by the post, and I'm feeling a tiny bit better. __________________ 'Somewhere up above the great divide Where the sky is wide, and the clouds are few A man can see his way clear to the light 'You have all the grace you need for today, and today is all that matters.' - Steve Austin |

Morning couch! Hugs and head nods all around as appropriate.
I took a vacation day today because my geology prof is doing an optional field trip here in town, to a spot where there is ancient volcanic 'stuff' to see. I got to sleep in a little but was wide awake after hitting snooze 3 times haha so I am up and ready to go but I don't have to be there until 9am (3 hours from now) so here I am playing on my computer, jumping on the couch and randomly tossing cushions at people! I was feeling a bit sad last night over not having seen t for 3 weeks now but I let myself feel sad, I said Artie it's ok to feel sad, she's been an important person to you for a long time, and my body sighed a 'thank you' when I did not eat the ice cream I briefly thought I wanted (success!) instead I sat down with h on the couch and watched an episode of "Flip or Flop" or whatever it's called (the Tarek & Christina house flipping show) then went to bed. I gained a little bit of weight back while I was on my trip, so I'm working to lose it again. I had been down to 248 lbs at one time in the summer of 2018, after I'd lost 52 lbs, and stayed in that general area until I had surgery what 5 months ago now (how time flies!) and after that I got back up to 260 when I first got home from my trip. Sucks! But I've been working on losing again and am back to 255 as of this morning. My next goal is to see 250 again... it's not the numbers on the scale so much as remembering how much better my body felt at 248. Everything was harder at 260, my arms had started falling asleep every night again, I didn't have the energy to go for longer walks, etc etc. We're going to be hiking 2 miles this morning but it will be slow with a lot of stops for the profs (there are 2 classes invited) to lecture and show us stuff and let us take pictures so I don't anticipate having any issues. ok I have rambled enough. I'm gonna go watch a couple more of the lecture videos for this module. I have 6 of the 10 I think left to watch. Have a good day or night all depending on where you are. and sending out one more set of hugs/head nods . |

Hubby is still home with his concussion. He's been fighting a whopper of a headache and is still a bit loopy. I'm glad he stayed home rather than trying to drive and work.
This afternoon we're closing on refinancing our house down to 12 years at a lower interest rate so I can retire sometime before I die. LOL! It's going to save us around $85,000 over the life of the loan as compared to where it stands right now. WIN! I love it when I have positive "adulting" experiences. It's Homecoming Day for us. Lots of ridiculously large mums and cow bells clanging. Nothing like football homecoming Fridays in Texas! If you have no idea what I am talking about, here is an informative article for you. LOL! Probably won't be much learning going on today. 12 Things Non-Texans Need To Know About Homecoming Mums |

Hope hubby is feeling much better soon! We refi'd our house a couple years ago to 15 years as well, it does save a lot that's for sure. We try to make additional payments to the principal when we can too but aren't able to as often as we'd like... it's really nice seeing your principal balance actually decrease in a noticeable way. I also enjoyed that positive adulting experience! Speaking of homecoming - do they call it "hoco" there? my friends back in Missouri do and it took me forever of seeing "hoco pics" and "2019 hoco" and stuff on posts and shaking my head going what in the world is hoco? then i was finally like ooohhhhhhhh haha! |

Yup. Still HOCO. The Homecoming Dance is this weekend, and due to fire code, we can only sell like 3,000 student tickets (yes, 3,000), and we've sold out. This morning on our City FB page, parents were complaining that their kids didn't get a ticket (they were warned weeks in advance about the limit on tickets). One mother said if the high school isn't big enough to hold the dance, maybe the building should be added onto. LOL! People are so stupid. Yes, that's why we have high schools -- to accommodate the HOCO dance. We actually have 4400 students spread over three campuses -- about 3000 in our building. Or, another parent said then they should have held the dance at a venue large enough for the entire student body. When reminded that the tickets would probably have gone up to $80/student which means fewer students would actually be able to afford to go (meaning we wouldn't need so large a venue), logic escaped her. Sometimes people aren't very bright.

well it is kinda confusing and all when @@ says gf my first thought is "girlfriend" but in the recent context about cookies I know it was "gluten free" and then Una says "bf" you never know it could have stood for "bacon free" instead of "boyfriend"! |

Saw my neighbors' dog just now. He's rather young and lives outside most of the time. I tell him he's a good boy in an excited voice every time he's at the gate when I walk by and try to interact with him a bit. Today somebody right in front of me entered the 'his' property to get to the door, he came running, saw me, stopped and looked at me like 'there's human that always is nice, should I go after intruder or go to the gate'. He was so cute. But also totally unlike my dog who runs over anyone who tries to enter our home.
