It's not a language course. It's basically a linux administration course. We will be on computers and he will be watching me execute commands.

Ugh, that seems like an awful lot of pressure. It seems that should be something that could just be handled by, well, a computer program... |

That does seem like a lot of pressure for something that you would think could be handled by a computer program. Well, maybe unless the course is preparing you for a job where you'll have to work with clients breathing down your neck? And he's trying to emulate that or whatever? I'm sorry, it sounds rough.

Well I finished watching the lecture videos, read the chapter (er, skimmed the chapter as it was borrrrring!), took the quiz (got 10/10 yay) and wrote my discussion post this morning. Now I just need to do the lab, which is looking over samples of several metamorphic rocks and recording their properties in a table. My favorite piece in this module is the mica schist. It's so sparkly and pretty!

Better to get used to the pressure now. Technical interviews are very stressful. I've interviewed with Google and Amazon and I do not care to ever repeat that experience. (If that sounds like a brag, it's not. I failed spectacularly at those interviews.)

Hi Couch,
Is it usual to feel overwhelmed when good things happen? Had a couple of successes recently, and I'm kind of struggling to hold them, in the midst of everything else. __________________ 'Somewhere up above the great divide Where the sky is wide, and the clouds are few A man can see his way clear to the light 'You have all the grace you need for today, and today is all that matters.' - Steve Austin |

I'm in a bitter mood today. Everything is irritating me. I feel like a huge jack*** for not going to wedding we were invited to. My kids are being spawns of satan today and I rather not make a huge scene on someone's special day.

I would consider it an act of solidarity, as the apartment maintenance guy will be entering my abode sometime in the next couple of weeks to modify my window AC unit, which i always find quite stressful. Share the pain! Haha just kiddin ya. |

My house is brick and was built in 1903 so - it is drafty even though stuff has been updated. I have plaster walls. I will break down soon and just turn on the heat - I have a boiler so it involves bleeding radiators etc
