I used to looooove scifi. Of course i prefer mine slightly tongue in cheek, or very sad.

Some of my favorite short stories are:

Eyes do more than see - i think by isaac asimov

All summer in a day - ray bradbury

Robert sheckley? I think was also quite amusing. I vaguely remember something about a vacuum cleaner, but it was the best thing i ever read.

Eta - just googled it - called, "can you feel anything when i do this?" written in 1969.

NP - have you talked to your doc about it? When my period started to get super heavy regularly I had an endometrial ablation in 2005 hoping to slow it down. I haven't had a period since. It was the greatest experience for me ever medically. However, YMMV and there may be other options for you. Getting up every 2 hours is not normal. ((Hugs))

No, I haven't seen a doctor about it. I'm sure I'm in perimenopause. I had a really terrible one a few months ago - awful cramping and heavy. Then a normal one. Then nothing for 10 weeks. So it's become very irregular. It's frustrating because I don't know what to expect. It's always been difficult, but at least I knew what to expect.

Time to go see the doc.

That's what my doc told me...when it gets to that point, head in for a check. Mine gave me meds and sent me for an ultrasound, which worked and showed that my uterus just was cranky but nothing seriously wrong

So so sorry you're dealing with this.

I feel very upset right now and blaming H even though I don't have proof that he did it. Just seems most likely. And it's irrational I know and probably should help me not SH but it feels controlling and makes me want to SH worse.

Hey, I wanted to let everyone know that I’m ok. Thank you to all who responded to my posts the other night and then checked up on me later on, it means a lot. Actually, I feel pretty bad because I hadn’t realized how much people on here would care and worry—if I had I would’ve checked in much sooner, so I apologize for that. I’m sorry if I scared anyone. Thank you all again for caring so much, I was really surprised today to come back on and read everything.

I actually ended up seeing my t Friday because I figured we are already in so much debt that we won’t be able to pay our mortgage on the 1st anyway, so why not add some more debt..

It’s been a long weekend. I had an 8 hour on-call shift for work Saturday night, but I was the only one on-call so I ended up doing 12 straight hours of one crisis call after the next. Since I was up all night, I woke up today (Sunday) at 2pm. Also woke up with a fever, sore throat, cough and headache. I was freaking out because I had to read and take notes on 3 chapters, write something based off the reading, create a voice-over PowerPoint presentation, and edit and submit and 15-page paper by midnight. Somehow I managed to get everything done. Now I’m finally in bed ready to sleep... only to be up in less than 4 hours to go to my internship. Kind of hoping that they send me home if they notice how sick I am.

Hey couch,

I just want to say I'm glad my T is serious about harm by therapists and other mental health professionals. I finally feel ready to talk to her about my first ever therapist who was very judgmental, played with his smartphone, didn't believe the traumas I tried to share, victim blamed me over some serious sexual harassment I faced at work. And I'm finding other people who've been harmed in my area and I've been asked to compile stories to submit to a professional body.

Psychologists and counsellors aren't regulated in my country though there's an increasing push for such from folks like my T. I'm glad T thinks us clients matter and I get to DO something.

Really glad you're okay but not good that you feel so ill. I guess it's not surprising with all the stress you're under. I hope your t was some help and there is a way forward for you to get some support. Do you have a debtline or other advice service for debt? We have quite good advice in the UK for that. It's very tough not having enough money to see t though. I worry about this although I think my t would try to be flexible as she doesn't see a lot of clients.

Well...we arrived at Monday again. Bleh. No extended weekend for me.

Off to work I go. This job is gonna kill me. I don’t have the energy for this anymore.

When that was happening to me and my iron dropped really low (I was allergic to iron supplements and infusions) my doc gave me MicroGrestin (spelling?) to take continuous. It’s a birth control. You just don’t take the “sugar” pills at the end, you just jump straight into the next pack. I haven’t had a period in years.

NP, you should really get that checked out. If your GYN also does OB stuff, they likely have a nurse line where you can call and ask questions. I can't imagine they wouldn't want to see you in this circumstance, though.

First day of my pediatrics block and I actually had so much fun. We had the cutest baby and all the girls went nuts over him. He was around 6 months old and had a huge belly, fat baby arms and legs.

The others in my class are organizing a group dinner on Wednesday but I don't feel like going. I already get tired with school and gym and I need my down time.

I'll take the chicken way out and text them at night or early morning.
