Which high school clique would your T fit in with?

What stereotypical “clique” do you feel like your t belonged to back in high school, and what makes you think that? Do you feel like you and your t would have been a part of the same crowd or not?

My t and I recently talked about something that made me wonder this, so I thought it could be a fun thread to start!

I could see my T being part of the preppy clique based on how he dresses now. I was a part of the band/colorguard clique so totally different crowds.

We would have both been on the outside, v unpopular and bullied kids. I know this as we have talked about it!

T and I are very similar. We come from the same culture and same socio economic sub group. We both did very well in school but had zero interest being involved in clubs or extra curricular activities or other non academic things. Bell rang and we got out of school with the bell. School was a place to get education and move on, not belong to any kind of groups.

With T being an athlete, the natural answer would seem to be "the jocks." But his sport isn't football or basketball or something like that. And he doesn't seem like the stereotypical jock (though who knows what he was like 30 years ago--he is like a stereotypical heterosexual male in some ways...). He's fairly intellectual as well, but I don't really see him among the nerds. I could actually see him being sort of like me in high school (and college, really), being a part of a couple groups at once, having a fair number of friends and being known and generally well-liked, but not being considered "'popular." Well, now I'm sort of curious and want to ask him, but I don't know if he'd tell me...

Ex-MC: the nerds, pretty much for sure. Except, hm, I think he played basketball (despite being 5'5"! I can still recall ex-T's hysterical laughter when I told her this...), but still, I can't really see him anywhere but with the nerds/geeks (not that there's anything wrong with that! It was one of my groups...)

Ex-T, I could see being a popular and "mean girl"...

Some of high school and college is being educated in dealing with others in various ways. A broader idea of education instead if education being just classes.

It makes me want to ask my T also! But I feel like he’d be like, “why does this matter...”

Theater
Stage crew (separate from theater group)
Band
Outsiders (the “freaks” in “Freaks and Geeks”)
Emo/goth

I was friends with people in a lot of different groups—I guess mine were more officially newspaper and “brains” though did a bit of theater at one point

I think mine would have been a shy and quiet nerd. I don't doubt that she was anything but a "good" girl.

Mine would have been a stoner in his youth but he's a geek now.

geeky athletic? She has said she and her husband are geeks but she also played soccer and has always been a runner and hiker. I suspect she was pretty social.

T was a jock in high school. She use to struggle because she was a jock in school and her son wanted nothing to do with sports. He is a huge nerd.

I was a nerdy music kid.

Mine was probably one of those well-rounded kids who played team sports and did well academically and was pretty popular.

I was a nerdy bookish choir kid. I was friendly with people in all the different groups, but we likely wouldn't have been in the same friend group.

I honestly have no idea. I can rule out groups - I know she wasn't a brainiac or athlete and I doubt she was all that popular. She was a baker before she was a therapist but I don't know of a baking clique.
