Couch 211: The Stoffle couch

There were chocolate waffles this morning. One of my kids made one, and it smelled heavenly.

I decided the reason the coffee is decent is because it's Seattle. There's probably a city ordinance or something that says you can't serve watery bad coffee in the land of Starbucks.

It was middle son's bday yesterday, so I texted ex to let him know we were going to dinner and it would be a good time to call to say happy bday before we were somewhere noisy. He Facetimed son, who handed me the phone at one point as it was getting passed around to all the boys. Ex was at a movie theater, acting uncomfortable and kept looking to the side. I think he was on a date. Even though it's none of my business and I shouldn't care, I feel sad and weird. This is stupid.

I just watched a guy make fried eggs on his waffle machine - they said they didnt have any more room on the stove. They turned out okay, if you like over well without having to flip!

My doctor cousin who I'm not super close to and who is in his Foundation year came down to London to sit an interview- guess for what specialty ?

He's almost always been great when I share things with him. I guess right now I'm worried that when he emailed me to check in he didn't want me to tell him new stuff. I shared a reaction I'd had to something he'd said once, but it should be clear that my reaction wasn't about him. I also shared two anecdotes related to the thing that came out last session. Then I told him I wasn't sure how to come to our next session and that I was feeling clingy. It wasn't an overly long email, maybe 300 words, but a bit longer than what I usually send. He hasn't responded. Maybe he's just busy this weekend or maybe he doesn't know how to respond via email. Or maybe telling him I was feeling clingy was too much. If I can manage to show my face, we meet tomorrow.

Im kinda sad about Kobe. T was a big fan. Whenever he would mention him, i would say, "... and he's Italian!", which would always crack T up. Cuz most people didnt know Kobe was born lived in Italy.

Yep. So tragic. I heard the news while I was in an ER waiting room - my friend had a stroke today (she's my age - mid 40's).

It sounds like she will be okay. She's having an MRI now and I have a pdoc appointment tomorrow at the same hospital so I'll see how she's doing.

Not only is she so young - but unlike me, she is not obese and enjoyed good health. It was very sudden.
