I am sure some do make sweeping generalizations. I am sure some also believe they are better than others. Thankfully, neither of the ones I have dealt with believe they are. They both admit they are human either human issues and mistakes. Neither of them have had blogs. websites or books.

I have learned to empathize with everyone after having gone through my crazy life journey.
I even empathize with those who disagree with me. I think those with Complex PTSD have every right not to trust others... Could this way of thinking about the world be a product of repeated traumas? Could this way of looking at the world not also be considered over-generalization? Hmm.. No one can empathize with that process of seeing the world and making over-generalizations which (to a repeated trauma survivor) seems logical? Thanks, HD7970ghz __________________ "stand for those who are forgotten - sacrifice for those who forget" "roller coasters not only go up and down - they also go in circles" "the point of therapy - is to get out of therapy" "don't put all your eggs - in one basket" "promote pleasure - prevent pain" "with change - comes loss" |

It seems like there are those that have been harmed badly by therapists and others who have been helped immensely. I think it’s important to note this because sweeping generalizations can be made about either side of the coin.

Most of my views are from working with them as a professional - not as a client. As a client the first woman was horrible, but I can't really say I was damaged by her and the second one wasn't horrible, just pointless. I think there are a lot of people like me who simply found it completely useless without being damaging in any way,

Yeah, I've been harmed badly by therapists. But, I have finally found a good one. That is true sweeping generalizations can happen at anytime with anyone. |
