Default Case Management

Does anybody have a therapist who mentions going to case management meetings and/or does anyone know anything about case management meetings?

I know some about Case management meetings. I never had my therapist come to one but if I still received case management services I would like it if my current T came. My son also had a lot of case management meetings and sometimes his therapist came.

Thanks for your reply, Omers. So what do they do during the meetings?

With my son they would just give really general information like “he is progressing in his goals” or “he attends all appointments”.
If I imagine my T with me during the times I had case management I can see him making general comments like that as well. I can also see him challenging them because they tried to force an incorrect Dx on me. Anything more than that and T would check with me first. For me it just would have been nice to have someone in the room on my side.

It was standard when I was in the hospital. Each morning, the doctors sat down with the nurses and social workers for case management meetings for each patient where they went over their notes, observations, and treatment plans before the day started and before the doctors met with us.

Do you mean a case manager like a social worker? Would this be someone assigned to you from inpatient?

Well, it could be that. In my situation my pdoc and therapist both work at the same clinic, so it's outpatient. I asked about case management because every time they say they've had a meeting my T comes into session urging me to "set goals."
