L and I are having problems trying to identify a word or phrase that captures feeling connected on an emotional level that creates feelings of warmth, attached, intimate, known, loved, comfort, etc. It's being connected, but something deeper. It's the "high" one feels after resolution of a rupture, misunderstanding, or crisis. It is the comfort you feel when you cry and someone comforts you. Or I've felt it when playing a game with L. Is there another word or phrase that encapsulate all of this? Have any of you felt this way with T or another person? How would you describe this feeling?

I feel it with my t but I honestly don't have the words to describe it except that it is a beautiful experience.

I was SO feeling it with T today (I think it was mutual) but don’t have a word for it either.

I guess I think of that feeling as "warm fuzziness."

I had this with former T. I think I would just say that she "got me" she understood me, she made me feel known, and loved, and cared about.

i beleive i had experienced a similar feeling as yours with ex-T on occasion when in therapy with him. it was in those moments i would say that i felt accepting, safe, and at peace within the connection with him.
i recently have also been able to experience this feeling on a much deeper and more powerful level than ever before within myself as a form of self love while partaking in MDMA assisted therapy. my experience of self love with the aid of the MDMA has far over flourished any and all 'intimate' experiences i ever had with my ex-T, or any other relationship for that matter. it has been incredibly healing for me to experience this level of self love with in myself and not having to rely on a relationship with anyone else for it to happen. i can say i fully feel accepting, safe, and truly at peace within my body and with myself. i don't reckon i would have ever achieved that in the strict constraints and boundaries of the therapeutic relationship or relying on talk therapy alone when i was seeing ex-T. |

Thanks very much, koru_kiwi. It's very good to hear about your experience.
I don't think I'll try MDMA but meditation is sometimes very helpful for me and I think I'll continue with that, knowing that it's OK if I experience something like you have. I think maybe I've had some inklings, which is why it came to mind. |

After reading up on it, I do think emotional intimacy encompasses all those feelings.

Warm fuzzies, safety, comforted, loved, validated, connection, bond, respected, special, agreement, content, happy, joy, on the same wavelength, and urge for a hug.
