I have a kind of funny story. I had only been seeing my psychiatrist for about a year. It was Purim (a festive Jewish Holiday) and I was taking my then 6-year-old daughter to a Purim party at the Jewish Community Center. She was all dressed up like a fairy princess. My psychiatrist and I happen to live in the same community. It just so happened he was at the JCC with his young son. As I opened the door, I saw the two of them in costume. I panicked, and made my daughter walk down one block and across another block to enter the building on the opposite side of where my psychiatrist was standing. He never saw me. That was the point. I told him that story a few years ago and it really made him laugh. I've been seeing him for 25 years now. If I run into him now, we stop and exchange pleasantries. Back then, I didn't want to ever run into him in his "regular" life. It freaked me out.
Seeing him with his son and they were both in costumes was more information about my psychiatrist than I wanted to have. |

Mostly, I imagine my T as a grandma (she is, and mentions her grandchildren fairly often). I can imagine her regular life to quite a degree. She's probably a fun person to be around, and her family most likely loves her. So yes, I'm moderately curious. But I'm not obsessed with her personal life.

Thanks. What kind of therapy are you doing as you said you go for walks with your therapist? If you want to share. I think that detail of her being over 40 and having a small kid can be comforting to some clients, it had been for me who feel I donīt have the relationships I want. I mean, starting out later in life having kids isnīt all impossible. She seems like a good T.

She is always open to go for walks if I bring it up. She is a wonderful therapist. I had my children in my mid and late twenties so our lives are different in many ways bit we work well together. __________________ |

I *dream* about being around PrevT and her family.
She is never related to me in the dream. But I dream about being in her home and around her family. Shes usually teaching me something or...theres something wrong (with me in my dream life) and Im frantically trying to phone her. I never can remember her phone number..I can see the numbers on the pay phone but I dial half of it, forget the rest, panic...and try to phone again. |

No, I can't say I've given it much thought one way or the other. Former T and Regular T were single and divorced respectively. Older, children out of the home if there were any. Pastor T is married, older, children out of the home. I guess I just figured they are like everyone else. Never spent much time thinking about it.
