I'm guessing I'm not the only one here, nor the first post here asking if anyone has ever dreamed about their T, but here is another post and person asking about this. It's just odd to wake up and have this full on fictional story starring your T. I wouldn't call my dream of T completely weird. It was about my first T. Who I haven't seen in a few years, but I've been thinking about her a lot lately and wanting to reach out. In my previous post from the other day titled "Missing my first T" I talked about my T and therapy situation. My constant thought process of wanting to reach back out to my first T about wanting to start therapy with her again and then chickening out before I send the email/text/or call is probably why I had the dream.

My dream was about T being there for this defenseless girl who is in constant danger and feels nothing but dread 24/7. It was in a way her POV as a sort of care taker/protector. I wasn't the actual girl T was protecting/caring for. I was stuck in this dark glass/invisible box watching T protect this girl. Like she was a shield or some sort of fortress. I'm still dissecting my dream. When I have a good memory of the remnants of my dream, the feelings it left me, the people and actions in it. I try to stay with it and dissect it in my mind to see if it means something to me.

Has anyone else dreamed about T or therapy? No matter how out there it seemed to you after you woke up. Do you invest much stock in your dreams that you can remember or still feel after you wake up? 🧠💕

Yes I have had lots of dreams about my therapist. We do dreamwork together, and he says usually everyone in your dream is a part of you. It can be quite unsettling at first but I look forward to having/remembering a dream to take to him now, depending on the subject.

Sometimes we imagine we are back in the dream, and see how it plays out, if we notice anything different or something changes, that can be useful too. Do you write them down? I like doing that so I can read them again, sometimes they make more sense as time goes on.

I have had a good few dreams about ex-T, both while she was my t and after. dreamwork was a big part of my therapy, and like you MissUdy my t said the same thing that everyone in your dream represents a part of you. She'd always refer to herself as "dream-me" instead of "me" which at first aggravated me for some reason I'd be like "no, it was you! why do you always say it was dream-you!" I finally got over it but it took awhile. I agree that writing down your dreams is important, i have a box full of dream journals after almost 8 years of therapy. I refer back to them often. I have this wish - to be able to type them all into my computer and somehow create a searchable database of them - so i could then more easily find them back at a later date. or even just catalog what's in each journal with keywords? I don't know. I continue to work with my dreams post-therapy as yes, i do put a lot of stock in what psyche shows me through my dreams. it's fascinating sometimes.

I dreamed about both of the ones I hired. They were not quite nightmares, but they were not happy dreams. I was always glad to wake up from them.

I had a dream recently that my therapist had completely changed the layout of his office, shaved off his beard, and then laughed at me when I was trying to make space to sit on his new client sofa. It wasn't a pleasant dream. I shared this with him the last time we talked. I don't know if it means anything but I'm glad i felt okay sharing it with him.

I dreamed a couple of times about long term T but nothing that I remember. Shortly after her passing I had a dream that she was standing at the foot of the bed holding my mom's had. They both looked at me lovingly and told me my mom was okay. My mom passed 20 years ago and I have had lots of questions. I honestly felt their presence. I woke up quickly and they were obviously not their but I still felt their presence.

I frequently dream of T. I can't remember ever having a nightmare about her, however.

I dream about PrevT once in a while. Usually, I dream I’m urgently trying to phone her but I can’t remember her number. Other times I dream she is my T, or my teacher.

I dreamed about Current T once or twice. One that I remember is I dreamed I was in bed napping with my mother. But when my mother turned over in bed to look at me, it was T’!
Ahhh!
I immediately woke up!

Yes, I feel my dreams about my T’s have a lot of meaning. It’s interesting to me that my brain can come up with this stuff.
