How effect is it for phobias which have been experienced since my early teens. Currently I am 59 and still feel like a child?

I have found it helpful for several things, although it can be hard. For instance after many years of anorexia I was terrified to eat, especially in front of someone. My therapist and I eat lunch and dinner together a lot. We go to restaurants. Not only is it fun for us, but I have learned to eat out in public and in front of other people.
