That's interesting, that she required you to see a T. How did you feel when she told you that?

I have never hired a psychiatrist and I never would go near one of them, but I absolutely would never let the therapist speak to anyone else. Ever.

Mine did once--I signed consent forms, and he told me before I saw her some of what they'd discussed.

Personally I think they tried to make it a requirement to see a therapist just to make money I had to see their therapist for one session they try to get me to keep seeing him but I said no I'm going to stick with the one I have so my psychiatrist required me to let them talk for the first few sessions

Interesting - and disturbing.

My Ts spoke twice. Both times they talked to each other they told me in advance and after they both told me what they discussed. They both believed in being the transparent.

So the conversation happened something like this:
Pdoc passes T in the hall, while T goes to get her office mail. My name is mentioned briefly, PTSD is mentioned briefly, maybe my anxiety is mentioned. Briefly.

I don't know what I thought was going to happen. But I talked to T about it this week. She said it could have gone better if she had known beforehand that I'd asked Pdoc to talk to her. She also wondered how knowing if I have PTSD would change the way we are doing therapy now. I guess I feel disappointed. He knows me for a few years; she knows me for over 30. I felt he invalidated what happened to me. He said we need to work on the current stressors. He didn't seem to understand how my current stressors are directly a result of what happened to me from about age 3 onward, in particular the abuse and neglect I suffered as a child. I didn't feel any comfort from Pdoc. T said she thinks he would respond positively if I told him how I feel. I'm not holding my breath. But one thing I've learned is that I have to ask both of them to speak to each other about me. Then they won't be caught off-guard.

Mine does, since they work in the same office, which is the way I like it.
