No I see my Therapist privately she has nothing to do with my Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). My CPN, Community Support Worker, Peer Support Worker and Psychiatrist all talk though

Yes. They both work in the same practice and share notes, as I requested. My t has brought my pdoc into a session before, after asking of course. I'm grateful they work together to try to help me

Yep. I work with two different teams of therapists & Pdocs through two different clinics that focus on different mental health issues (i.e. eating disorders and treatment resistant depression). Both clinics work as teams and check in with each other on stuff as needed. I also have releases signed so that the two different clinics can communicate as needed or as requested by me.

They did, with my permission. They didn't very often, but there were times when I was in serious crisis and communication between them was important so our plans to handle the crisis could be best coordinated. I'd say probably 90% or more of the time, they spoke to each other while I was in their office and they were on speaker so we could all talk. Their ability and willingness to work WITH me in a collaborative way was key to my treatment, healing, and eventual ability to no longer need either of their services.

Regular T and Pdoc used to talk when they were in the same office. I don't think they do now though. But I know they are both on my side and on my team.

No, but I signed a consent for so they can. They just haven't.

I signed consent forms so they can. I don't know if they have of their own free will. I have asked them as recently as last week, to talk about some of my issues, and I know that they have.

I found that normally they had not reason to talk to each other about me. Pdoc was in charge of meds; T was in charge of therapy. Their responsibilities didn't really cross often. They exceptions were if a) my mental state was so unstable that I needed hospitalization, or b) something with my meds was needing adjusting because it was presenting as an issue that was showing up in therapy - like increased anxiety, depression, sleep issues - particularly if a med had been added/changed in some way. Otherwise, they didn't really need to talk. Pdoc didn't try to therapize me; T didn't try to medicalize me.

I see a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have given her permission to talk to one of my therapists, but I don't think they have spoken, likely because there hasn't been any reason for them to talk. The psychiatric NP is not a huge fan of my therapist anyway because she heard the details of a pretty big rupture we had and it made her question my T's competence.

They have releases to talkbut none of my Ts or Psych NP have felt thr need tom. They trust that I know my self enough to not need to. Psych NP always asks how things are going with T. Before an appointment with Psych NP I occasionally ask T if she has any concerns.

Their offices are in the same clinic, right next to each other. They regularly share notes.

Probably the most productive session I've had was one in which my pdoc and T were both present.

It's been helpful for the two of them to share notes. Now, with video therapy, that they share notes is somewhat awkward. I would prefer to put my therapy on hold until (if) in-person sessions resume. But with my pdoc right there, well...things get sticky in several ways.

I signed a form that allowed them to communicate when I first saw my T but that form expires after a year if not renewed. So, they have communicated in the past but not any longer.

No, they don’t. Like was said earlier in the thread, pdoc handles the meds and T handles the therapy. I’ve been in situations where my T and pdoc have communicated though. I see the benefit.

No. I wanted them to and would still like for them to but it was too difficult for them to coordinate schedules. They know they can if they need to but they also both trust me a lot.

My T has talked to them a couple of times in the past, when I am not doing well and she wants to make sure they're on the same page.

My Pdoc asked yesterday if he could talk to her. They already do talk to each other, and sometimes I don’t always like what they say about me. Although I don’t actually know what they say until I hear it from T. When I really don’t want Pdoc to know something I have to tell T not to blab. One time I went into a session with Pdoc after just getting off the phone with T and the first thing he said was “so, T just sent me a message.” Seriously?

My pdoc does that, too. I've also requested to my therapist that she not tell my pdoc something, but I know she does it anyway by what the pdoc tells me. So now If I don't want something to be communicated from one to the other I just don't talk about that "something."

In the beginning they did. My Pdoc would not take me on as a patient unless I was seeing a T and since I chose to not see a T in her center, she would call my T during my session with her. They mainly talked about my SUI, depression and DID symptoms. Also how I was responding or cooperating in T.
