My t is closing his office; he is "seeing" clients on-line or taking walks in a park; Guess I will be taking walks with him in the park.

I have been with him for 19 years! After the reason for therapy ended (abusive church situation) I stayed with him.....as I had feelings for him; they have never changed.

Is he closing his office permanently? I’m currently meeting with my T in a park - I kinda prefer it over the office - less clinical.

My T dropped the lease on his office. He said he told the landlord he hopes to come back when this is over but can't afford to pay for an office he is not using.

That is hard but understandable. My T had to renew her lease in May. She said it was hard because she knew she was likely renewing and paying for an office that she would not be using at least the remainder of the year if at all for the full year. After a lot of thought she opted to renew some she has a great office in an amazing area with rent that's is low for that area. I can definitely understand Ts not wanting to make that kind of committment

My T returned to her office to hold sessions. We are still doing video sessions. I don't know if anyone has return to seeing her in person. It has felt like she's been able to keep a slightly better frame with her returning to the office. Or at least it felt that way at first. She's been back for about a month and this last week has started to feel a bit more casual again. Not sure if that's coming from me as I'm struggling with video visits or if it is coming from her.

I'm sorry to hear of that loss for you. For me the space matters a lot.

My t is letting his lease go (along with all of the other t's in the building); not sure if he will try to go back eventually; I sure hope so...I just wonder how many other t's are doing this, and all of these buildings without tenants....what a loss of revenue for all of these offices which are vacant...

My T has mostly been doing video sessions from his office since the pandemic started. He said it's easier for him to focus there as opposed to at his house, though he does meet in an office there on occasion. I feel more comfortable with "seeing" him in his office as well, though I did enjoy seeing his dog that jumped in his lap once when he was at the home office.

I've asked if he plans to keep his office, and he intends to. He also leases to some other T's (plus an acupuncturist and massage therapist), and he's said he's concerned a couple of them might not renew their sublease with him, which I imagine could be an issue for him financially.

I'm sorry... I also wonder how many T's will end up doing this (or who already have)

Sorry..this pandemic has been stressful.
My T still does telehealth and is working on a way to do sessions online. She says she hopes to return to the office one day. She still leases her office and tells me the price includes her medical group doing other things for her....(maybe billing?)...not sure.

I miss seeing her.
The hour on the phone seems to zip by...but when I saw her in the office, the hour seemed to go more slowly. Weird.
