He called me and we spoke for 20 minutes. I feel a little less desperate. Maybe I'll go get something to eat.

I'm glad you were able to talk and that he helped. If you're thinking about getting something to eat, that sounds like a good thing (at least, I know when I'm really upset, I can't think about eating). |

I tried the AC on and off. She was in a carrier but she does have a kind of jacket I can attach a leash too. I put her on that for a bit to see if helped and she explored a little to look out the windows but panted constantly. She’d been fed (she doesn’t get motion sick, even on an airplane). She is going to have to travel at least to the vet’s in the future so I hope this is not going to be her new schtick. Maybe I should try putting her on a leash and letting her explore the car. I have a friend who puts her cats in the car in carriers 30 minutes before she leaves, so they have time to get used to the idea that this is happening. |

HUGS @@ both of my kitties meow like crazy when they are in their carriers and in the car. Even Esther who isn't really big on vocalization. Amelia on the other hand meows whenever she walks into the room, like announcing in a prima donna sort of way that "I'm here! Pay attention!" I've not had one that pants or gets motion sick. I do put them in the carriers early like your friend does. They cry like crazy and Amelia throws herself against the walls of the carrier to try to get it to bust open. But eventually they get with the program and just meow pitifully every few minutes in the car.

Rascal (diabetic cat) howls pitifully pretty much all the way to the vet and back home too every time we take him to have his blood sugar checked. Doesn't matter if he's in his crate or roaming the car, he howls. It's maybe a 15 trip each way. He doesn't go on car rides except to go to the vet, so that may be partially why...

Does anyone feel rreally guilty about calling sick at work even if you can hardly drag yourself out of bed? Or calling to say you cant come in because you are flooded in. I used to all the time wheni worked. But i remember i was forced to go to school when i was sick because my mother never believed me.

My almost perfect attendance in school completely backfired when it came to my adult life, when it REALLY mattered. I used up all my juice by the time i was 21.

Yes I have that guilt. Last year right before I had to have that appendectomy I wouldn't even call in sick the day I went to the ER, I worked that morning until I felt so bad I could literally no longer sit upright and only then did I leave early. I did not call in sick again for over a year, but I did leave early one day last month because I had such a bad headache. I told myself Self, take care of you. Go back to bed. I actually listened. But I usually let guilt keep me at my desk... |

Well im gonna go cut my hair. I cant stand how i look lately. Then take a shower.
Even Gov Gretchen has been wearing her hair less poofy. It looked good on her at the press conference today. Like she finally got out of the 1950's. I swear Bewitched's evil twin was her role model, what was her name? |

Truly magical for me to realise one of them was purring as I stroked her two nights ago. Never heard a cat purr before. Quote:

I found a caring and attentive GP near my new place. Was googling clinics in the area and his clinic has many good reviews both old and recent. Good and bad reviews alike were responded to promptly and politely personally by the doctor.
Any negative feedback was replied to with apologies and what he did to fix it (eg reprimanding rude staff). I went in since I've had diahorrea for three weeks following two weeks of constipation. He's the 3rd doctor to suggest I have IBS, specifically mixed type. My diet hasn't changed from when I was still living with my abusive family. If anything, I'm eating more fruit. Researching about what foods might help or worsen IBS is pretty overwhelming.Sigh. All of a sudden, for the first time in my life, I seem to react badly to dairy (cow's milk). I bought myself some chia seeds since i read they may help but I really hope I don't have IBS I'm dismayed at health issues coming up when I've finally left the abusive situation. I had chronic muscle tension and body aches all over for a month after each time my mother relayed messages through my younger brother...which wasn't fun at all since every little movement hurt. I had to tell my younger brother and get my partner (whom Mum hates and refuses to use even his name) to tell my Mum to stop relaying messages through my younger brother. I'm young, omg, so why am i getting health problems I've never had before? Also body memories/ body-flashbacks are awful. Sorry for the rant. I'm at a loss. T does have experience supporting people with chronic conditions like diabetes, chronic pain, chronic fatigue etc but I'm embarrassed to tell her... |

Hi, Quietmind, I was sitting over there & I heard what you said about your possible IBS. I was thinking, your doctor is probably familiar with family stress & will want to help you. I'll be crossing my fingers for you.

Thank you. I definitely feel lost and somewhat worried. The doctor did prescribe Immodium (Loperamide) and told me to monitor. It hasn't been helping but I'm going to cut out dairy and caffeine for a while.

I see. Well good luck with everything. I guess I'll mosey on back to that nice comfy chair over there. I'm working on a sudoku puzzle game.
