Ugh, skunk! Funny story. When I worked at the North Rim back in the summer of 1984 (the summer of J but you've all heard that story enough) I was assigned to clean the big cabins up by the lodge. One day I smelled this awful smell that I thought was a skunk. Like a dead skunk under the floor of the closet, was my best guess. Guests complained endlessly and we gave them can after can after can of air freshener because there were no free cabins to move them to, it was solidly booked like a year in advance or something ridiculous and nowhere nearby to even go stay instead. So they had to live with it. It was horrible. Management never found anything. I ended up leaving before the end of the season partly because of that. When I told h the story years later he laughed and said somebody was in there 'smoking the good stuff'.

Her file folding method satisfies me deeply lol. I never liked folding clothes the usual way because I never get them perfect, and I mess things up as I search for the clothing item I want. With her method, I can see all my clothes at once, and looks so neat. |

I just don't post much about my therapy because of stuff in the past on PC. I do post when I'm especially cranky with her (some weeks back it was because she said I shouldn't be perpetually surprised by the stark differences between my family and my current living situation) but it passes quickly because I'm just venting. Or I tell her why I'm pissed and she fixes it so I have nothing to rant about haha. |

I always thought my folding was pretty good, as it was my job to iron and put away clothes and linens for the household when i was growing up, and my father was pretty particular as the house was his responsibility (my mother didnt even sort the silverware! ) BUT marie kondo improved my folding game to another level!

My parents always had a housekeeper / helper to do chores, including the ironing. My dad's the one who is extra particular about IT cables and things being stowed away, but what wasn't cool was how he'd obsessively inspect ny belongings for dust and fingerprints, and get the housekeeper to reorganise allllll my stuff. Funny thing about keeping IT cables neat...Nylon cable ties (dirt cheap, 100pcs for $2?) make it sooooooo much easier. Some people say rolling clothes (then standing the roll vertically) means no wrinkles (true) and that it's better than Marie Kondo, but I find the latter fits in more clothes in the same space. I gotta say I love living away from my family lol. My friend who is my landlady says I'm obsessively neat, and highly organised. (I've got my own internal logic to arranging my stuff) She jokes I'm a tad compulsive once she saw me refold my clothes Marie Kondo style. She also commented rather puzzledly "why do you think you've a ton of stuff? You barely take up any space!" Dad was wrong about me being untidy, "with a lot of stuff" lol! Turns out half the stuff in my old room belongs to my sister despite her having moved out almost a decade ago! |

Poor old man cat. He went to the groomer, and had to be completely shaved again. He's lost so much weight that he looks like a cat skeleton. Groomer said he seems skinny but pretty normal for an old man cat. He seems stiff but not too uncomfortable. Vet appointment in two days, thank goodness. Poor guy.

I am much much happier not dealing with a therapist. I regret ever having hired one in the first place. I found uses for them both - but not enough that it makes me glad I tried it. __________________ Please NO @ Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. But seriously and also non-confrontationally, why does anyone on here stay with their therapist? Very few therapeutic relationships as described on here seem all that good or beneficial to me from an outside perspective, but it works for the people involved. My solution is low expectations.[/QUOTE] I have absolutely no experience of the positive things people post about therapy. It ranged from awful to meh for me. I kept hiring the therapist longer than I should have in part because I kept thinking I could figure out what the hell was supposed to be the point. __________________ Please NO @ Selfishness is not living as one wishes to live, it is asking others to live as one wishes to live. How long was it since your last session with info? Maybe you could delay your next session for a bit and spend the money on something else for yourself. I have a good relationship with my therapist. She is supportive when I need it and challenges me on my stuff when I need it (but not in a pissy way).
My corgi somehow got a half- empty can of cat food off the kitchen counter last night and polished it off. It's a standard height counter. He's a corgi. It does not compute! __________________ "I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers which can't be questioned." --Richard Feynman |

I can't even begin to properly categorize my relationship with L. Other than to say it is convoluted, of course.

I can’t see lone dog, also a corgi, doing this—unless new cat were to help him. Your dog’s got skillz.

And later she talked about how wonderful it is for people to feel “seen”, and that was a good thing about therapy. It wasn’t worth the effort to laugh in her face about how well she was “see”ing me. I am only seeing her when I feel the need now, which is about once a month. |

Going to talk to my friend in DC on Thursday. It was supposed to be tomorrow but she forgot she needs to take her car into the DMV. But yeah! I'm excited we are going to talk. The last time we talked which was maybe 3 weeks ago, it was a short call because I hadn't scheduled it in advance and she was coming home with groceries. This time it is a scheduled talk so we might get 30 or 40 minutes which would be awesome!

It's 10 o'clock in the morning and I finished my work for the day. Oh well, better to get paid for the day than not. I don't get it. I'm either really busy or I have nothing to do. I even paid bills which takes about an hour but it didn't stretch out long enough.
