Yesterday during my big lecture class some students turned their webcams back on (this is forbidden and Zoom turns their cameras off when they enter the room) and amused themselves by making gang signals to each other and in one case making fun of my voice.

I’m used to having my voice mocked (between being hearing impaired and having two parents with strong accents that I picked up and combined, it’s definitely odd). But they were distracting enough that one of my TAs will now have to play police and kick out misbehavers. It’s college, not kindergarten.

Thanks, Artie. It did go well, though wasn't really about what I was expecting. We talked some about how he didn't want to offer me Sunday, but did have other clients scheduled for then. He said he prefers to just hold Sundays for clients who can only attend then. And would rather not do them at all. Which helped, because I said I thought maybe other clients ranked higher than me. and he said no, that's not the case. And that he actually holds my regular time slots for me and will move clients out of them if they request them. (He doesn't do the set times for clients thing). Which was nice to hear.

We also ended up talking about the time his fluffy white dog showed up during session. I said how before he wouldn't say what pets he had, but then there she was. And how he commented that she was "needy" but then he kept petting her through the whole session. And how it made me think that he could deal with needy creatures, like me.

More later, but feeling good about the session in general.

Oh, for Pete's sake. What jerks.

FWIW, that kind of behavior annoys my teens to no end, and I'd guess that most of the rest of the class was irritated and disgusted by their jerkish immaturity.

not sure what to think about h. he woke up for about an hour and ate lunch. his stomach is not hurting today, we have decided the stomach pain coincides with the increase in his metformin, so he's going back to old dose and will talk to dr about it.
Possible trigger:
i think he is suffering from depression and may need medication for that but he refuses to even consider that or counseling.

Hey artie, yeah that metformin can be a beach. The dose my dr had me on (for quite a while with no problem, btw) was giving me the runs, so i cut it in half.

Sorry your husband is miserable. There is a wicked stomach thing going around. My daughter-in-law went to the emergency room with it last week it was so bad - they checked for kidney stones, appendicitis, and food poisoning. Sent her home with no clear decision but told her it could still be the appendix. She ended up back at the emergency room a few days later and they were able to at least rule out the appendix that time. The decided it is just a horrific "stomach flu" that takes a long time to get over. The teacher next door to me got the same thing last week and he still hasn't returned. Hopefully whatever is ailing your husband will run its course soon.

It can definitely be the Metformin. My H couldn't even take the starter dose. I struggled with it for a long time too. I no longer struggle with stomach pain, but I have constant diarrhea from it. There are other meds out there. I take Pioglitazone and Trulicity. Trulicity has the added bonus of weight-loss if that's beneficial.

I'm so happy! I got to see L in-person today and we had a great session. It had been a month since our last in-person session. It's hard at first. I know her and recognize her, but it takes adjusting to feel comfortable with her again.

In other news, I saw a neurologist for my memory issues. He's ordering an eeg, MRI, memory test, and blood test. I'm most worried about the eeg. I don't know how long I have to wear it. And I see L in-person that week Like hell am I going to therapy with that stuff on me. I'm not leaving the house!

Thanks una. I read side effects online about it and was ticking them off one by one he's got most of 'em.

Thanks Scarlet. I think I'm going to send an email to the doctor about it maybe they can change his meds up.
