Does Benadryl work for making you sleepy? (I know it has the opposite effect in some people.) Maybe you could try that for the next few days? Magnesium can help with relaxation, too. Or melatonin? |

Ooh, i think im watching the first Gunsmoke with Burt Reynolds!!! He was a regular for a season or so.
Eta - i always wondered about his backstory, how he came to be in Dodge. It was pretty good. Last edited by unaluna; Sep 19, 2020 at 02:57 PM.. |

Getting ready to take diabetic cat to the vet to check his blood sugar since we increased his insulin dose. I am hopeful that it's helping at least a little, as he's still been spending more time out in the main part of the house rather than hiding in the closet. I wish it would help him walk better, but maybe in time.
ETA: just got back home from vet. She actually decreased his insulin down to 2.5 units twice a day from 3. He'd been at 2 before she upped it to 3. We go back again in a week... Last edited by ArtieTheSequal; Sep 19, 2020 at 01:43 PM.. |

Yep, I'm one of those people where Benadryl has the opposite effect. Melatonin has never done anything for me. Never have tried magnesium. |

I am also having a lot of trouble sleeping. Ambien worked for me, but had the nasty side effect of worsening my depression and making me want to hurt myself. I used to take benadryl or unisom, but they both stopped working even when taking much more than I should have. Psychiatrist prescribed hydroxyzine after I stopped the Ambien, but it doesn't help and gives me a really severe headache. Trazodone didn't help and made my mouth so dry I had trouble speaking. My tongue and the inside of my mouth stuck on each other. It was awful - although I would have put up with it if it had helped.
Weed doesn't help. Melatonin helps me not wake up in the night, but it doesn't help me fall asleep. Kava kava tea helps me relax a bit, but again, not enough to fall asleep. __________________ Life is hard. Then you die. Then they throw dirt in your face. -David Gerrold |

Hey couchies, slow around here this weekend. Hopefully ya'll are having more fun than I am, doing housework and cleaning out my car. I'm going to do dishes later and bribe someone else to cook.

Have you tried Doxepin? Most other things didn't work, stopped working, or had side effects. With Doxepin, I'm asleep in 30mins or less, and I sleep through the night.

oh yeah I forgot, I took trazodone for awhile to sleep during the worst of my depression. It helped me sleep a LOT, but unfortunately with the side effect of horrible nightmares.

I worked today, and my son came over for a couple hours to install some replacement blinds for us. They look so nice. But I'm set for a boring evening! |

Hmm. Not sure I'm too thrilled with our next assignment (she's starting to post stuff today) it has to do with designing research studies about trauma. Ugh.

Actually I guess I should be reading. I'm a tad behind in reading the textbook chapters we have exam 1 coming up in less than a month on the first 7 chapters and I'm only halfway through chapter 4.
