Bleh. This morning I talked with T about trauma stuff. That never feels awesome... but also I worry that since he has heard about truly terrible traumas from other patients (not to mention may have experienced trauma himself), my stuff must sound minor to him, and my reaction to my little traumas must seem overblown, too much, dramatic.

Though... I've been reading a lot of ego psychologists for the fellowship I'm in (e.g. Anna Freud, Paul Gray), and it makes me wonder if this transference of authority (like, the fantasies I have about what he feels in reaction to me) is just a defense against my feelings related to the trauma... and/or whether my fantasies about how he feels in relation to me might be reflective of how my parents reacted to my intense thoughts and feelings when I was growing up.

What does it mean when your house is cluttered and organized? Lol. Like my closest is super organized: arranged by type of clothing (dresses, sweaters, long sleeve blouses, etc.), and then organized by color within those categories. But you look at my kitchen counters or dining room table, or my desk, and it's all cluttered. Does it count that the clutter is at least in piles?

Oooh I was flirting with the idea of buying the Met Opera streaming subscription but it turns out I can get it through my university library account -- score!

Aaaaargh, why does my roommate talk to me when I have noise-cancelling headphones on and am clearly watching a movie? I don't know how else to signal to her that I don't want to talk with her except for saying, "I don't want to talk with you right now," but she would find that hurtful and then things would be tense and I don't want to have to deal with that. I spend most of the day in my bedroom and she's good about not bugging me when I'm in there with the door closed... but if I'm in the kitchen eating or cooking or something she like pounces on me even when I'm clearly watching something. GAH.

She also likes to talk to me right when I step in the doorway, and half the time I have headphones on and can't hear her and then have to tell her to repeat herself and I stand there helpless until she stops talking.

Bleh.

I am the same way. My kitchen cupboards can be organized to the t, or my undergotchie drawers, but getting to them is like climbing Mt Everest!

I think they will eventually find they are two different genes, and we can inherit one from each parent. My mother was disorganized, my father was very neat!

It's 82 degrees outside, the coolest it's been since Autumn started. I'm inside. The air conditioning is on at work which is off-set by my space heater being on. I'm wearing a short sleeve black tee shirt, a long sleeve black tee shirt, and a long sleeve black sweatshirt. Hmmm. Wonder if something is wrong with me? I can't quite get the temperature right in my office. I have to keep turning the space heater off and on. Oh and I'm wearing Jeans, instead of like, khakis.

I finally have my own place...after years of living with other Women- and it's almost daunting to think about doing now that the moment has arised. What do single men do with all this free time!? Its killing me

Had to get Esther prescription food, insulin, and syringes today. I gave my Dad $100. He was going to go pick it up for me, but I probably owe him some more money. At least I'm not paying for antibiotics right now because that is like $50.

My husband has been just utterly physical exhausted and weak since last Sunday. Went to the doctor thinking Covid was a possibility, but because he only really has that one symptom, he doesn't meet the criteria for testing. Doctor said it is probably some other awful crud that is going around that is wiping him out. He tends to get more intense symptoms no matter how small the illness because of his other health conditions, so it is so hard to know. He's starting to feel maybe a bit more human, but whatever it is, it has kicked his butt.

Is it still hard to get tests where you are, Artley? It was like that here at first, but we've had a place where you can get a test for any or no reason for months now. Regardless, I'm glad he seems to be getting better!

I'm feeling lonely and also a little cold and all I want to do is huddle under my blankets in my nice comfy bed and go to sleep. But it's only 6pm where I am so that's not really a great option.

I would also really like some whiskey but I'm on call so that's a no-go.

ETA: decided to take a bath with a candle and a book—that’ll definitely solve the cold part and help pass the time ‘till I can sleep.

That's my husband. No fever. No cough. Lungs are fine. He's congested, but it's also the height of allergy season right now so congestion is par for the course for pretty much everyone right now in North Texas.

He's feeling somewhat better finally today, but it may take him a few more days.

My daughter-in-law had what the doctor was certain was COVID back in April, but in addition to the exhaustion, she had the breathing issues, fever, etc. Getting her tested back in April was an act of Congress. She tested negative but the doctor was pretty sure it was a false negative. Six months later, her lungs have still not fully recovered.

Maybe an antibodies test? Just to be sure. Could be important to know for future health care.

We have a bunch of places where you can get testing where I am, no referral or symptoms needed.
