I’ve dreamed of PrevT several times. In my dreams her role is either my therapist or teacher. Sometimes I’ve dreamed about her where she is herself, my PrevT.

The only time I’ve dreamed about CurrentT, she was herself in my dream.

Do you dream about your therapist? Are they ‘your therapist’ in your dreams?

I have dreamed of about long term T a few times. Mostly after her death. She was telling me she and my mom were okay.

If I have dreamed about current T I don't remember them

I have never dreamed of T or L. My dreams/nightmares reflect people who have caused me harm. Normally, I relive the trauma or similar in my dreams.

I have two or three times. She's the therapist but she's not doing therapy with me in the dreams - from what I can remember.

Yes - they were always semi-nightmarish and she was always a therapist but I never saw her face. There were a few where I had appointments and then realized halfway through that the therapist was not the one I hired and they did not know me or me them. Then there were the ones where the therapist was always in shadow turned away or whatever so her face was never seen-just her voice or notes

I dream about my long-term therapist fairly regularly, maybe every month or two. Usually I'm trying to do therapy with her and something is getting in the way, like random people come into the room or she turns away or she won't listen to me. Occasionally in my dreams she is a comforting mother figure, and in those dreams I am sometimes a younger version of myself.

I've had dreams off and on with some of my Ts in them, but not all of them. I've only recently started seeing L! and I've already had dreams about him 2 times. I wonder if it means something.

Minus the last sentence, exactly what ElectricManatee said. I used to dream about my impending appointments and in my dream either her office was different, or the door was open and people kept distracting us, or she was a different version of herself (usually with bad teeth and hair and not paying attention). I dream of her less frequently now, but she still features more in my dreams than anyone else in my life. hmmmm....

PrevT told me that clients may dream about their therapists for years.
She said my dreaming about her means:

“It is a sign that you have internalized me and our experience to keep with you at times when you need to access that sense of caring/support/whatever it is that you feel.”

I like that.

Yeah, dreams where she fires me, refuses to see me, sees the sibling who sexually abused me etc. Used to dream she'd beat me quite literally with the same instruments my parentals and older siblings did.

Yes, this...and also if you are having bad dreams with your T in it then it could point to where your relationship with T could use some work? Or how you view them? I think I read if dream work is something you and T do, then dreams about them are particularly important to bring to the session.

I used to have dreams like this with ex-MC, where other people would be in the room, or I knew he was there, but he wasn't coming to retrieve us. I think I had one about Dr. T with various people coming in the room as well, but they were mostly people I knew. With ex-MC, they were strangers.

Dr. T (my current T) shows up relatively often and tends to be in a role of professor or teacher in my dreams. I think he's been a therapist once or twice. Ex-MC used to be in my dreams fairly frequently and was always himself, a therapist. The couple times ex-T appeared, she was also a therapist.

I don't remember many of my dreams currently (sometimes it somehow seems to be more and sometimes less), but I have dreamed about my T a few times, probably more than what I remember. In all the dreams I remember he was my therapist, though sometimes a bit different than in real life as it happens in dreams.

Yes, I think we might be up to 7 or so over the 5 yrs so not often. I believe she's been my T in all of them. Most of them show a level of mistrust in her or in therapy. The very first one came at about the 5 month mark or so and the transference was just starting to really take off. There were lots of feelings going on around the transference. I live in a city with a river that runs through the middle of it. There are many bridges to get across the river. In that dream, T was picking me up and taking me some place on the other side of the river. I got in the car with T and she took off. I asked her where she was going because it wasn't towards any of the bridges we have. She said she was going to take the tunnel. At first I accepted this answer. Then we were at the beginning of a tunnel and looking at the darkness of a tunnel, my mind went, we don't have a tunnel under our river. I panicked and woke up.

We periodically laugh at this dream.

I haven't in ages. But I used to have a dream of trying to find my first therapist at his office and always missing him somehow - it was always a sign that I needed to give my therapist a call (even when it was decades later and a different therapist).

I have many wild fantastic dreams but never have I dreamed of a t or pdoc, guess they weren’t that important to me.

I did the other night. It was odd, he was much younger than he is now. He was sitting on the couch like he did pre-pandemic with a pillow at his side. I curled up beside him, he put his arm around me and I slept.
Exciting right??
But it was the best nights sleep I have gotten in months.
