Spending the day out of the house by myself today. Maybe I’ll make a new friend somewhere. It’ll be nice to get out of the house and walk around.

Oh wait, it’s St. Patrick’s Day! Surely I’ll be making a friend today drinking green beer somewhere, lol.

I remember the feeling if freedom that always hit me when I took off to do something on my own. Not like going to me career every day but just taking off & driving somewhere alone & just enjoying life without HIM around. I remember it always being such an exilerating feeling. (Now my whole life feels that way after leaving permanentaly)

Hope you had a good day

Thanks everyone! I was tempted to go to the local Irish pub and belly up to the bar, but I didn’t. I was scared I’d get shaken up from it and doubt myself for leaving.

I’m feeling really good, though. I have been miserable in this relationship. It brought out a person in me that I don’t want to be ever again! I know I am doing the right thing for both of us.

Meanwhile, I accidentally gave my cold to my friend who has cancer and is in chemo, and she had to go to the ER last night. I feel so terrible! Hers turned into the flu, with fever. They probably admitted her. I’m Typhoid Mary!

I hope your friend beats her cancer. If you don't have the flu--she probably picked it up elsewhere--I hear the current type of flu going around has many cold like symptoms and lasts a while (a couple of weeks according to what some have described to me.) This flu may take a while to play out but her doctors will help her get through it. Don't stay away from her too long--friendship bolsters our immune system and distracts us from pain.

I had a headache the day we met for dinner. The next day it became a cough, body aches, sore throat, sinus headache, but no fever. It was bad for two days, then I felt a lot better. I still have the cough. If I didn’t have fever and she did have fever, I wonder if it was the same cold. I thought it takes fever to be the flu, and no fever meant it was a virus.

I’m waiting all morning until it’s late enough to text her to see if they admitted her. I’ll offer to go down there and take care of her dog or help in any way I can.

Freedom is great ... although a bit lonely maybe. But the little waves of loneliness are so much better than the raging storm of awfulness. I hope you enjoy the spring weather! (It’s on its way...)

I had what you had....no fever but body aches & a ciugh that lasted a monthbeven with musinex. Yes, a virus but the flu is a virus akso, bacterial infections end up beinfmg complications of the flu. My friend is a PA & I was at her house, farmvsittjng for her ehen I got sick. She disgnosed me when they got home. Nothing like having a private physician. Lol she even made a house call for a friend & neighbor who had the same thing I did but turned into pneumonia for her. That is probably their real concern for your friend. When the immune system is low, pneumonia happens easily

I am not feeling any more loneliness than I felt while with him. We sat in different rooms watching TV. We didn’t have much to say to each other, even in good times. I have felt so lonely for twenty years. I stayed home because of our kids. We are the most boring people, just watched TV. So, when I am sitting here alone watching TV, what’s the difference?

At least I found this little world here on PC and reached out to people. He never interacted with others. He would read news stories on his iPhone. Well, he used to play these games online where he had to scramble words. He was ranked #1 in the world for high score on that. He’s very smart. Then he got into the game Name Da Flag, and he knows every flag from every country. But mostly, he does not interact with people. He doesn’t even interact with our kids.

At least now that we are separated, he is spending a lot of quality time with our sons.

Are you sure he is not ASD? Siunds very similar to what I luved with way too long. My career was the only thing that gave me the ability to stay initially then I was trapped financially. Not a good place to be

You may be right on about him. Too bad no professional ever picked up on it and helped us.

Yes, prifessionals sermed to have a hard time pucking it up in the older age groups. It wasn't diagnosed in the US until 1994.

It is interestjng because everything my (our) psychologist wrote about him to the IRS & for dis disability request all fit PERFECT with an ASD dx but they never came up with it though our pdoc told him & told the IRS that he had something mire wrong with him than JUST adult ADD & that he had suggested that he go to a neuroligist after I told him everything he had done, but H refused. Like if he ignores it, it win't be real.
