So, I am all alone but not lonely. I fill my time with busy chores- shopping, walking, working, sleeping, eating, etc. I am happy. I used to feel the need to socialize more and went to church but it was a waste of my time. I just can't get into the religious mindset and don't believe in all of the ideologies. Thus, I decided to entertain myself. I watch youtube videos a lot and also decided to improve my health and appearance. This has helped me tremendously! I feel great!! I don't feel lonely at all. At work, I talk with others. And when I am not at work, I am constantly thinking of ways to keep busy. It took me some time to come up with a makeup routine that works for me. It is a chore!! But, I look good and feel good. I have more confidence now. It sounds stupid but appearances matter. It is not everything but people treat me differently now which is sad commentary about people but it motivates me to look my best. I look really young for my age which helps. But, I am trying to maintain my weight and not get too overweight. I walk up the stairs daily and this helps build my stamina and strength. I enjoy walking now early in the morning. I also listen to music and watch tv when I'm not working. I'm really happy now. I don't really talk to people when I am not at work. My family is too busy also and does not have the time for me to talk daily. I am literally all lone but not feeling lonely. I am looking better and this has helped me feel really good about myself. Of course, I would not mind to have more social activities but am happy with my life now. I don't have much responsibilities and am satisfied with my life now. I care about others but realize people are too busy with their own problems. I don't need to bother others with my problems. My new doctor is great too! He is really sweet and kind. He encourages me to remain stable and be compliant. I feel blessed and feel grateful for what I have. Life is really good now! I would not trade it for anything else now in the world.

Good for you! You sound healthy and happy. I like spending time
with books and art, music and movies, and my cat. Like spending time with myself, because frankly, I'm the least annoying person I know! |

I think this is something many don't realize, that being "alone" and being "lonely" are two very different things. You can be lonely and not be alone, and you can be alone and not be lonely. Once we realize this as individuals, life seems to get much better. It's something I realized, too.
I do surround myself with friends I can trust. I am not close to my family at all, so my friends are my family. We do a lot together. The only way I am truly "alone" right now is the fact that I am single, but that is something I have accepted as I am not ready to start over after my last breakup. Like you, I am pretty happy with where I am right now even though I don't have a significant other. It's great that you know exactly who you are and what makes you happy right now, I would say that's more than half the battle. Keep it up. |
