While I was youtubing I came across this video, which I found interesting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUSsw6OF2YQ It was nice to hear that being introvert is not somekind of deseace or something, that it is just a different personality type and that I am not alone out there. Millions of people are introverts too and it is something natural like extroversy. The more I was listening to the video the more I was identifying myself comparing me to the traits mentioned. Do you find yourself belonging to this personality type? |

I am an introvert also.
I get my energy from being alone. When I’ve had sufficient ‘alone time’ I really really enjoy people. Some folks think I’m an extrovert because I can so enjoy folks. But I’m not and they don’t understand that enjoying folks is not a sign of extroversion—the sign is where you get your energy from. For example, say there is a big party. Extroverts get their energy from being around people and at the end of the party they are up and energized---wanting more. An extrovert at a party can really enjoy being around everyone, but at the end of the party they need to go home and recharge their batteries. I have literally said, after a great party, “I never want to go out again.” And I enjoyed myself—but my energy was depleted. I found more information on my personality type at https://www.keirsey.com/ --- I used to think everyone was like me, feeling and thinking deeply, and it was my job to mine it from them. No, there are many different personality types—and knowing not everyone is like me—was GREAT!!! Good luck on your self-discovery journey—you are up to a great start! |

I definately need alone time. I can be alone all day and it seems like only minutes have past. I do enjoy being around people though, but only certain people who charge my batteries and we have a wonderful interchange of thoughts and feelings. Get me around my family or in laws and I feel like I’ve been sucked dry by a vampire and tossed in a dumpster to rot.

NO introversion is in no way a bad or weird thing at all. it just is. it's a personality type and so many times I get tired of hearing people making introversion sound as if it's a disability, an illness or even just the "wrong" way to be. it's not. Look up information on the positives of introversion and look into how many successful people in the world actually are introverted and you might be surprised. not that introversion is the better way to be but like I said, it's just a type of personality and in and of itself is not negative. it is not social awkwardness, it is not social anxiety, it isn't even about being shy. Those are all valid but separate issues people deal with in life and introversion does not require one to be any of those nor do any of those traits say that one is an introvert because someone has those challenges. A better understanding of introversion is needed so much with the general public. and I have tested out to be INFP (and another one.. kind of between the two but both were introvert) |

Well, only the morons think there's something wrong with being a quiet thoughtful person. But, alas, there are many morons in the world.

I don't think they judge the quitness, but the fact that we often avoid too much social contact seems weird to them. This is opposed to the model imposed by the media. That's why, I think... |

I hear you, but it's the quietness as well, I know that first hand, they can't handle it - they're thinking, "why isn't he speaking ill of others all the time like me and everyone else." They should just mind their own business.
