We, my H, and I went on our trip to FL. Our son got us a condo on the beach, on the 2nd floor, with a balcony facing the beach. It was totally beautiful, and I thought would be romantic for our 25th anniversary. We got there on the 7th of this month, and would be staying until the 14th. The very next day, after we arrived, my H ended up with 1 possibly 2 abcess teeth, so we went to the local ER. He ended up seeing a nurse practioner. She gave him 3 pills of 300 mg of antibiotic, and a pain pill, and said she would give him some jell to put on it. She looked at it to see if it needed draining at that time, but it was just starting, so it didn't. We were discharged and left the building. When we got to the car my H remembered the jell, and they didn't give him a RX for it, so he went back in, and was told no on that. Then we went to the nearest Walmart and I bought anything I thought would help him. Even orejel mouth rinse, orejel extra strength, ambosol extra strength, hurricaine jell, and 2 of the new 3 day sensidine. The next morning his face was swollen, and worse than the day before, so we called the ER back and told them. This time we requested a Dr. but we got the same person that he had already seen. She didn't even look at the abcess. She told us she would jive him a pain pill, but that wasn't what we went there for.

We left AMA (aginest medical advice), and they ran after us to sign the paper, but we never signed. After we left, we went several miles into town, and went to a diffrent ER. It was explained to us that when my H had his major back surgery he couldn't take motrin only for the year that he was healing, but he could take it now. So they gave him a RX for 800 motrin, and 2% lidocain jell then we were released. We had them filled, and went back to the condo. I ended up doubling his antibotic bc I knew that 300mg wouldn't touch his abcess. He gets them very bad, and we are going to try to have his teeth removed, and get him dentures. Anyway he spent 5 days, of our 7 day trip on the couch before he felt good enough to get out. So the last 2 days we had a good time. The first day out, we went deep sea fishing, and cought a stringer full of fish that are in the freezer now, and the 2nd day we went snorkling. We talked alot about everything that was going on at home. He promised that he would go to anger management in July, and he promised he would take care of his mom. Well so far he hasn't taken care of his mom, I have, and I think when the time comes he will just make excuses about going for anger management. Just thinking about everything here is so depressing for me, bc I know deep down nothing will change!!!!!!!

Yep, people (or H's) don't change even when faced with tough choices & as long as they can get away with it they push the limits.

Well not a romamtic get away but would it have been anyway? Yes, we can have a good day with someone when we are doing something that distracts from what really bothers us about them but then reality smacks us in the head when we get back to REAL life.

Sorry you had such a hard time on your trip.

As I said before the trip, I didn't have any expectations. And I don't care if his mom is still here next month, if he don't go for counciling, i will follow through with my own plan!!!!!!!
