Today I was talking to a young friend of mine (acquaintances really) and she confided in me that she had a boyfriend for two weeks and was sad. She told me the young man couldn’t handle her. She is on medication because she has anxiety issues..... So I bought her a breakfast sandwich and tried to cheer her up. She thanked me and smiled. The funny thing is I don’t really have any advice for her - I’m 63 and haven’t had any long term relationships.... the irony struck home and I hoped she finds somebody to hang into... I never did and it’s a tough road to navigate. Anyway, she’s a lovely young lady and I’m sure some young man is going to find her adorable. Funny how after she left I just wanted to make this saga about me..... yo yo yo....

I stuck with a guy for 33 years. It was the lonelyest time of my life. Now I'm not alone I am not lonely. If yiu aren't with the right person it us better to be with no one.
You should not just find someone to "hang onto" you should find someone where there is REAL mutual connection. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. Yeah I thought it wasn’t much of a chance. I’d tell her that he wasn’t what she was looking for but what the hell do I know.... besides I always hated people who said things will be better tomorrow because sometimes they aren’t.... 🙏

Two weeks is usually just beginning of maybe getting to know each other, hardly a “boyfriend” or something to feel sad about. She might need to find more things in life to enjoy. There is more to life. It’s curious why she accepted a sandwich. Were you there meeting her for breakfast?

Thanks for sharing this. I thought it was a nice gesture. Sometimes not having any advice to offer can be a blessing...
