I've used OKC on and off...went on a few dates but I never liked online dating. I'd prefer to meet someone in the real world.

Yes. I met my husband on EHarmony. And prior to that I had 9 years long live-in relationship with a man I met on match.com (didn’t work out in a long run but it had nothing to do with meeting online). I know several married or seriously involved people who met online. It’s no different than meeting IRL. It just gives your larger pool to choose from.

Most people who use OKcupid complain that people on there only want sex. Some sites are mainly hook up sites, so it’s not surprising. I’d avoid free sites.

Good luck!

I agree. I found almost all of my OKC dates only wanted sex, which was a bummer for me.

ok cupid should be called ok hookups. I never found anybody who wanted a relationship from that site. They all wanted sex and when they got sex, either left or disappeared for awhile to return to have more sex. It is a free site and may be attracting people on there who are not serious about relationships.

OK Cupid in my experience is a waste of time.

I met my wife of 14 years on “No Longer Lonely” a dating website for people with mental illnesses. She lived in Virginia and I lived I North Carolina. We just celebrated our 14th Wedding Anniversary. So yes, long distance relationships can work if you are committed. Be prepared to email a lot.

I met my ex on "No Longer Lonely" site. So, I am happy it worked out for you. My ex was a a walking nightmare. He is the epitome of a gold digger. He never cared one iota about me and his intent was to have easy street at my expense. I almost died while I was with him. I was overweight and had many health problems. But, I ran away from him and it was the best thing I ever did. He is mentally ill too. He has paranoid schizophrenia. I thought he was kind but realized his kindness was a facade. His illness dominated him and he was worse than living with a psychopathic sadist who lied, connived, and stalked me until I had to escape to survive. I wish the best for you and your wife. It seems you have a good thing going. I envy both of you in a good way. Best Wishes!

Thanks for your vote of confidence! Yes we have it good. While we have our bad times we laugh much more than we cry. My wife is schizoaffective, but doesn’t let it define her.
I’m sorry you went through what you did. Best wishes back to you.
